आज @mumbaiheritage पर राजाबाई टावर के निर्माण की इस तस्‍वीर ने कितनी पुरानी यादों को जगा दिया। इस तस्‍वीर में बनते हुए राजाबाई टावर के पीछे अरब सागर नज़र आ रहा है। यानी राजाबाई टावर के पीछे का काला घोड़ा वाला इलाक़ा संभवत: तब नहीं था। आईये कुछ दिलचस्‍प तथ्‍यों पर ध्‍यान दें।
हम आमतौर पर इस बात पर ध्‍यान नहीं देते कि राजाबाई टावर गेटवे ऑफ इंडिया से भी पुरानी इमारत है। राजाबाई टावर का निर्माण नवंबर 1878 में पूरा हो गया था। जबकि गेट-वे ऑफ इंडिया का निर्माण 4 दिसंबर 1924 को पूरा हुआ था। पर इससे भी पुरानी है यहां की एक और इमारत।
1870 में इस इलाक़े में बनकर तैयार हुआ था चर्चगेट स्‍टेशन जो सेंट थॉमस कथीड्रल के पास था। ये भी बता दें कि ये चर्च 1718 में बनकर तैयार हो गया था। यानी राजा बाई टावर इससे साठ साल बाद बना। और चर्चगेट स्‍टेशन राजाबाई टावर के आठ बरस बाद बना। ये रही इसकी तस्‍वीर।
