This one in mice suggests that a daily feeding-fasting rhythm is a key input to liver and muscle clocks that enables synergy between the two tissues for control of glucose metabolism at the systemic level. Image
- Physiology is regulated by interconnected cell and tissue circadian clocks.
- Disruption of the rhythms generated by the concerted activity of these clocks is associated with metabolic disease.

Not much data out there but even #redlight with a high lux will suppress #melatonin & disrupt #circadianrhythm.

So make sure your red light machine is far from you at night to reduce intensity! Use a lux meter.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16687299
Light exposure in evening, night & morning affected circadian phase of #melatonin levels. In addition, even longest wavelengths (631 nm, red) & intermittent light exposures induced circadian resetting responses & exposure to...
low light levels (5-10 lux) at night when sleeping with eyes closed induced a circadian response. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30311830

USING AN IPAD FOR A BABYSITTER IS CHILD ABUSE.

WHY?

#BlueLight from screens is more damaging to kids than adults because the lens of their eye hasnt fully developed & cant block high energy light as well. Full lens development doesnt happen until...

you reach your 20's. Giving little kids Ipads and video games is basically child abuse.

You might not be aware of it, well now you are, but as this study shows when you give your 5 year old an ipad, you are limiting the development of white matter in their brain which....
basically makes them dumber because white matter contains the cables in your brain that makes it possible for you to learn and develop cognitive skills etc. It also makes your kid's behavior worse.

This is in addition to wrecking their #circadianrhythm, lowering their...

IS THERE UV LIGHT AT SUNRISE?

UV power level at sunrise in Northern hemisphere summer = Zero.

You usually find UV light doesn’t emerge until about 20 minutes after sunrise (this depends where you are in the world). Even at that time it is very weak UVA registering a... Image
00.1 on the meter.

I suspect there is UV at sunrise just not detectable by a meter but, there definitely is UV light out in early morning hours shortly after sunrise. You are not UV free until 930am or whatever some meme shows.

So get out there early for the uv free red and...
& blue light heavy sunrise which, among many other things, starts production/release of hormones and preps your skin to safely withstand stronger sun later in the day.

Hang around for just a little longer until that tiny bit of purple light (uv) emerges to combine with...

This one tried to examine the effects of the combination of chronic sleep restriction and rotating sleep schedule on blood pressure, renal sodium retention, potassium excretion, and aldosterone excretion.
- The combination of chronic sleep restriction with circadian misalignment was associated with higher systolic blood pressure despite higher sodium excretion.
- Two patterns of renal sodium excretion emerged during prolonged exposure to a rotating sleep schedule:

I don't know who needs to hear this BUT YOU ARE NOT LAZY IF YOU ARE WAKING UP AT NOON. I have spent hours with patients with delayed circadian sleep phase trying to destigmatize sleeping late and waking up late. 1/4
A young patient looked at me incredulously as I told him that waking up late was okay. I could see him process it in his mind and I saw a wave of relief pass over his face as he understood the concept of circadian rhythm. 2/4
From a young age he has been told that that waking up late was a sign of laziness and he was terrified of even thinking about sleeping in and would feel ashamed if he woke up late. 3/4
