#Labour is fighting dirty, provoking the woke @Young_Tories @loveukhatetory What to think? About time? It’s political theatre, grandstanding on the issue of crime. But justified, because the legacy on 13 years of #ConservativeParty misrule has led to #BrexitBrokeBritain #Strikes
The Tories #brexitshambles followed by @trussliz were accompanied by underfunded public services, especially policing, the courts, jails, & probation services. Lawlessness stalks the land and this is at least partly to blame.
We have a government skimping on law&order, without compassion, barely clinging to the idea of public service, and without new ideas. #GeneralElectionNow @labourandtrade is anticipating the dirty political fights ahead, and laying the ground to win them.

Three Prime Ministers in one year with #ConservativeParty members effectively disenfranchised from the process. Having voted for #borisjohnson and #liztruss we now have a Prime Minister rejected by members. 1/13
#democraticDOR is not against who leads our party so long as the members have their vote and endorse our leader. Any leader of our party needs the support of our membership. But it's not just a request it is our constitutional right! 2/13
Because that was what was promised by the William Hague reforms, which members backed and voted for! 3/13

In August 2022 @RishiSunak left a bitter taste in the mouths of Turkish Cypriots as his anti-Turkish letter to the so-called “Conservative Friends of Cyprus” was released to the public.

Now he is the UK’s Prime Minister…

#RishiSunak #PrimeMinister #TurkishCypriotsExist #Cyprus
In his letter, Sunak revealed his very misinformed and narrow minded view on the Cyprus issue. It was filled with historical falsehoods regarding the events of 1974 and a lack of awareness surrounding current issues such as Varosha and the drilling within the EEZ’s.

#RishiSunak
@BTCAOfficial The British Turkish Cypriot Association responded to @RishiSunak letter immediately after. However, the new Prime Minister never replied. Unfortunately this suggests his anti-Turkish views on the Cyprus issue are true…

And with one bound, she joined the Conservatives .
My POINT is: no checking procedures. From application to confirmation took an hour.
If my cat can join(and in time vote) who else has joined? From where? With what intent?
Political parties can be infiltrated ! ImageImage
This was a ‘test’. They failed. I proved my point. Remember, my cat won’t vote for the next leader, but who WILL be voting? Conservatives Abroad are also , I gather, horrifyingly easy to join. #tories
😿It has already happened. And these sort of people ( plus their foreign friends) are the ones who are responsible for the ‘final’ say on the future leader of the party.
Are you scared?
I fecking well am. #borisjohnson #ToryCorruption #ConservativeParty Image

According to #CdnMediaFailed, Trudeau isn’t allowed to be human. He’s not allowed a vacation; he’s not allowed to use a VIP entrance that all other heads of state use; he’s not allowed decent accommodations even though he’s 🇨🇦’s Prime Minister; he’s not allowed any social time.
The relentless nonstop character assassinations in #Conservative (largely foreign) owned #cdnmedia, is not about informing the public. It’s about playing interfere for any real scrutiny of Conservative politicians. It’s about acting as political public opinion manipulators.
Just some of the fake accounts that showed up on this thread, in case you want to report and block.

Funny how there’s not a single credible argument or single credible account among them. Just pure garbage.

During this election, I’ve seen a ton of hypocrisy and dishonesty in #ConservativeParty attacks, and compiled some of this
#cpc claim: the cons never wanted this “vanity election.”
Picture: #otoole was demanding it for months #elxn44vote
#cpc claim: Trudeau bought the media and it was all biased for him.
Picture: most media in Canada is heavily biased in favour of the conservatives, and has been for years.
#cpc claim: they are against negative adds and condemned #trudeau for supposedly using some.
Picture: a still from the first Con party add of the election, which featured Trudeau’s face photoshopped on a little girl from Willy Wonka, but got pulled for copyright infringement

Who dominates the debate about #Brexit 🇪🇺 in the #UK 🇬🇧? 📢 In this new article in #PRX (@ecpr's new #OpenAccess journal) @hoennige, @dominic_nyhuis, @PhiMeyer, @SusumuShikano & I analyse visibility bias and mentions of MPs in reporting on #Brexit | doi.org/10.1080/247473… 1/7
Using automated text analysis of 58,247 newspaper articles published July 2017-March 2019, we find
1) #ConservativeParty MPs were strongly overrepresented in ALL (!) newspapers - irrespective of left/right or pro/anti-#Brexit position (71% of all MP mentions vs 48% of seats) 2/7
2) #ConservativeParty backbenchers who were part of pro-#Brexit pressure groups #LeaveMeansLeave or #EuropeanResearchGroup were overrepresented among Con backbenchers, yet the same was not true for backbench members of the anti-Brexit #PeoplesVote campaign 3/7

I want to share a new paper. Its relevant to #GE2019. The findings are quite exemplary of the misguidedness of much of economic & social policy under the #ConservativeParty. It should be a harbinger to wary voters: there is more of the same under the Tories & with #Brexit. 1/..
The short summary: the reform to housing benefit from 2011 onwards was intended to save the public purse hundreds of millions. But quite the reverse happened: not only did it create huge amounts of misery and agony, it also ended up not saving the public much money at all. 2/..
What happened? From April 2011 onwards, local housing allowance was massively cut from covering up to the median level of rents, to only cover up to the 30th percentile of market rents. Here is a map of how this affected households in terms of expected losses per week. 3/..

How it is possible that @BorisJohnson is being investigated in the USA for potentially being compromised but nobody in the United Kingdom including the #bbcqt #media #Police have investigated this #crime #Brexit the #GeneralElection is days away #ReleaseTheRussianReport
The intrigue over a 'buried' probe into Russian spying deepened last night amid claims in security circles that it contains references to blackmail fears concerning Boris Johnson. #ReleaseTheRussianReport
One expert witness, who gave evidence to the ISC inquiry, has claimed privately to friends that he believes Boris Johnson was 'compromised' by a Russian businessman on a foreign trip in 2016
This is getting crazier 😱 #ReleaseTheRussianReport #GeneralElection2019 #GetJohnsonGone

There are a multitude of reasons not to vote #ConservativeParty, but here's another one for you. It's long been known that Tory #austerity has been responsible for the deaths of disabled people, but they have now been implicated in the deaths of infants too.
Three Universities have conducted a study that shows welfare cuts have led to rising poverty, and rising poverty has led to around 570 more infant deaths than would be expected.
" In the most deprived local authorities, the previously declining trend in infant mortality reversed and mortality rose, leading to an additional 24 infant deaths per 100 000 live births per year (95% CI 6 to 42), relative to the previous trend"

My #GE2019 poll tracker is now up to date on my blog here bit.ly/34u8Bky.

As before, I've compared latest polls to election results from GE74 to #GE17 & broken the data down by region, #GE2017, #Brexit & class.

Full details in the blog but here are the key pts. /1
#ConservativeParty are back to #GE2017 levels in all regions. Votes are being redistributed from remainers to leavers and the key to a majority is the efficiency of this transfer. /2
#Labour are around 10 pts behind where they were in #GE2017. Can they repeat the comeback of GE17 again? The key is reclaiming the defectors to the #LibDems and they have been doing that but they are leaking to the #Tories as well. /3

Ok, I get that the split in the #ConservativeParty is a hoot - and, really, I’m passing myself too. But let’s not forget that the ‘fathers of the house’ are massive cunts too.
*pissing* not ‘passing’
It disturbs me that Clarke and Soames (et al) are being portrayed as ‘moderates’. Just NO. There is no such thing as a Tory moderate. They are not nice guys. These men have blood on their hands that goes back generations. These men crippled this country. Never forgot.

(1) I wonder if American audiences fully grasp the enormity of what #BorisJohnson has done by asking the Queen to suspend #Parliament. This is way more extreme than if #Trump asked #MitchMcConnell to delay the Senate session to avoid an unpopular vote. cnn.com/europe/live-ne…
(2) To put this #ConstitutionalCrisis in perspective, you have to remember that the #UK's parliamentary supremacy vests far more power in their legislature than we've ever given to ours. Under the American system, the Constitution is supreme. Under the UK system, Parliament is.
(3) Things have gotten trickier in recent years as #Parliament delegated some power to other institutions: regional assemblies in #Scotland and #NorthernIreland, a Supreme Court (Lords use to be the highest court), and made other structural changes. see: talkingpoliticspodcast.com/blog/2019/168-…

1) #TheresaMay has revealed herself to be an open borders corporatist and an #EU fifth columnist. She regards #Brexit as a problem to be neutralised, not a promise to be delivered.
2) For two years #TheresaMay has stalled us and watered down what we voted for until there is virtually nothing left of it. She has been deliberately deceitful and she has insulted the intelligence of millions of people.
3) Many people who voted to remain want #Brexit to happen because they’re fair-minded enough to respect the result of a democratic vote. They can see that for the government to renege on the result would be like punching a hole in the bottom of a boat.
