125 new #covid19sverige deaths reported this week and 35302 new confirmed infections for the 7 days until Thursday, decreases of about 7.5% compared to the previous 7-day period.

Total deaths now 14048.

Adjusting for date of death and reporting lag, deaths are at about 20/day.
By comparison, that's almost 3 times as many deaths as our Nordic neighbours reported in the past week - combined.
And about 4 times as many confirmed cases - combined.

It's the 1 year anniversary of the first reported death from Covid-19 in Sweden. 23 new deaths reported today, and a further 5300 new confirmed infections.

Total #covid19sverige death toll now 13 111.
This is a dramatically higher death toll than our Nordic neighbours, who chose a suppression strategy - get cases down as much as possible - as opposed to Sweden's mitigation strategy - get cases down enough so that healthcare is not overwhelmed.
At the peaks of Wave 1 and Wave 2, Sweden was experiencing around 100 deaths/day from Covid-19. We continue to have around 20-30 deaths a day.

34 new #covid19sverige deaths reported today, taking the total to 13042. There are 34 deaths with no date of death recorded. These deaths were spread fairly evening over the past 2 weeks, with only 2 deaths recorded earlier. Image
Now that the data is more or less complete, a slowdown in the rate of new deaths is clearly apparent from approx mid-Jan in the cumulative deaths data. This is approx 3 weeks after harder restrictions were put in place.

Yes @SwedishPM, NPI work. Image
This is also clear on the 7 day average of mortality, with deaths declining significantly from Jan 14. While the last 2-3 weeks data remains incomplete, a clear slowing in the rate of decline is already apparent from approx Feb 14. Image

#covid19sverige update, Swedish media anti-oroa special edition.

58 new deaths reported today (138 on tuesday and 44 yesterday) taking the death toll to 12428.

Changes this week as far back as Nov 22 (moved to next day), but the majority of additions are in the past 2wks.
Growth in cumulative deaths continues to slow, reflecting a decrease in daily mortality
7 day rolling average mortality I've removed all updates from 2020 to simplify as Excel was complaining about it! Deaths averaging 90 or above from Dec 20 through now to Jan 15, down from a Christmas high of 99.

73 new #covid19sverige deaths reported today, taking the total to 12188. Oldest change was +1 to jan 9 largest +10 to Jan 26. Still 40 deaths with no date yet registered, and thus not on the graph below.
Cumulative deaths starting to break away from the trend line now, showing that daily mortality is decreasing.
Excel complained my daily average graph was too complex and I haven't worked out how to fix it yet, so I'll give you last week's instead! Looking at the raw data no major changes, average creeping up as you get closer to today, as expected, but daily mortality likely decreasing

=>

=>

A delayed update with yesterday's new #covid19sverige data. The Public Health Authority reported 84 new deaths, taking the total to 11005.

Oldest change was -1 to March 11!! Image
I've been pointing out since it happened on Nov 5 that Folkhälsomyndigheten added a new death to the very first day we had a SARS-CoV-2 death but Swedish journalists didn't seem curious and FHM didn't answer me. Now it seems they've noticed and it was a data error ... +1 to Nov 3
Yesterday also had a change to July 7, subtracting one death. Other than these changes, the oldest change was +1 to Nov 26 and only a handful of other changes in December, so we appear to have finally caught up on the holiday reporting lag. Image

171 new #covid19sverige deaths reported today, taking the total to 9433. Oldest change -1 to Nov 30 (+1 to next day). Largest change +20 to Dec 27. Dec 17 increases to 114 deaths, 1 below the 155 peak of Wave 1 (April 8 and 15). A new graph today!
31 deaths currently have date unrecorded, they are added on the last day of the graph of cumulative deaths. The gap between lines gives an indication of lag of updates, and it is clearly the worst of the pandemic at present.
In the graph above, each line represents the data for the entire pandemic has reported on a given day, with the most recent data the longest line (orange).

With the latest updates, the steepness of the curve is now similar to that of wave 1.

277 new #covid19sverige deaths reported by Folkhälsomyndigheten today, taking the total to 9262. The data includes a death added to January 4 2020, I am assuming this is an error and should be January 4 2021.

Outside of that, oldest change +1 to Dec 1, largest +31 (Dec 17.
Dec 17, Sweden has hit a wave 2 high of 110 deaths, the 4th highest mortality in a day since the pandemic began, and sadly confirming my prediction to Expressen in November that we would exceed 100 deaths in a day before Christmas. 😥 😥
I literally have tears running down my face right now. I did not want to be right about this. Each of these numbers is real person, with a whole circle of family and friends who loved them 😥 I sometimes feel that those in charge do not think about this.

258 new #covid19sverige deaths reported today, taking the total to 8985. As noted earlier, this data is not even close to up to date due to holidays. Oldest change +1 to Nov 7. Additions to every day from Dec 9. Current peaks 83 on Dec 10 and Dec 14. 35 deaths with no date.
For new followers, each line on the graphs is the data as reported on a particular day. New reports update the data on many previous days, hence the curve keeps changing. Not understanding this leads to believing a plateau has been reached when in fact it is just an artefact.
This is even more apparent when we look at the rolling 7-day average of deaths per day. It always looks as if things are improving. As data updates, you can find it was an illusion. Current peak at 76 on Dec 16 and 17, up from 71.

=>
#Covid19sverige #Coronasverige

BREAKING - Sweden is banning public events of more than eight people from 24th November. About a month ago it planned to raise the number to 300 people. #CoronaSweden #covid19sverige
Private events such as dinners or parties are still covered by local recommendations rather than the new ban. However the Prime Minister asked people to continue to follow the local guidelines where they live.
In 20 out of 21 Swedish regions, people are advised not to socialise with people they don’t live with.

"It is going to get worse. Take your responsibility to stop the spread of the virus", said PM Stefan Löfven.

35 New #COVID19sverige deaths reported today, taking the Folkhälsomyndigheten total to 6057. The oldest change was +3 to October 29, four separate days (Nov 1,4,6,7) had 5 new deaths reported.

A clear uptick in the cumulative deaths curve is now apparent.
The rolling 7 day average is rapidly increasing, and the 10-14 day lag in reporting is clear in this graph, with each line representing the averages as presented each reporting day. The most recent data is the line that ends furthest to the right.
Once fully updated, this data will likely show we are average well over 10 deaths per day at the moment.

The Swedish Palliative Care Registry is reporting 74 Covid deaths so far in November, an increase of 42 since Friday.
