Seriously? Again ... seriously? Partly as a result of the gender pay gap, a figure that represents the myriad of workplace injustices women experience, women over the age of 55 are the fastest growing portion of the homeless population.
And @andrewprobyn The PM clearly still doesn’t understand the gender pay gap. It is a composite figure that represents the myriad of ways women are disadvantaged in the workplace. Not just men and women paid differently for doing the exact same job. That’s the bloody point of it.
If the PM can’t get to grips with that — undervaluing women’s work, the impact of unpaid caring responsibilities disproportionately felt by women, occupational segregation etc — he has a LOT of catching up to do before the budget.

It came to me last night as I attempted to find my way into slumber. The PM @ScottMorrisonMP had heard ‘rumours’ of allegations against a Cabinet minister from inquiries via @4corners & @Milliganreports 'Nothing of substance' though. He couldn’t possibly 'interfere'.
I mulled over this last night and I do not believe the PM is telling the truth. I call bullshit and I rarely swear.

I thought back to that day in October last year when I received a phonecall from the PM's office telling me to stop criticising their federal budget.
The day after handing down the biggest spending budget in Oz's history someone inside the PM’s office had enough time – and obvious inclination – to pick up the phone to me. They said I'm a ‘public figure’ & took issue enough with my words that it was necessary to ‘interfere’.

Morrison's manhandling of an elderly woman while trying desperately to distract us all from his mishandling of sexual assault claims demonstrates that he has no clue. He is by nature both a bully & sexist. Here are some examples 1/9 #ScottyFromGilead
In Nov 2018 he made the smutty & lewd statement 'I’ve had plenty of mates who’ve asked me if they can be my special envoy to sort the issue out with Pamela Anderson'. He was responding to her appearance on 60 Minutes urging him to bring Julian Assange home 2/9 #ScottyFromGilead
In Mar 2019, at an address to mark International Women's Day, he said that the Liberal party wanted women to rise but did not “want to see women rise only on the basis of others doing worse”. 3/9 #ScottyFromGilead

Yes, the public absolutely has a right to know about Canberra's culture. Because the people working there aren't just representing us the public as our elected representatives, they're formulating the laws that control our society. 1/7

Having seen the behaviour revealed in the @4corners report, does anyone seriously think that these men are in any position to legislate on behalf the female portion of our population with any kind of care or respect? When they treat female staffers as a perk of office 2/7
how can they be trusted to act to close the gender pay gap, fund domestic violence services, child care services, ensure that female dominated industries don't exploit and underpay their workers, and represent our society equally in parliament? 3/7

Let’s talk about women and this Budget. We know that women have been disproportionately affected by the recession. You’d imagine the Gov would be concerned about this and looking to pour big money into helping women. But here’s what they’ve delivered instead. #crediblewomen (1/7)
There’s $240 million set aside to be spent on women’s economic security.

Sounds big.

But that’s half as much as is being spent on a new computer system for Services Australia. (2/7)
Just 0.038% of this big spending Budget is being spent on women.

It amounts to $40 per woman worker, or $8 a year, until 2025. (By the way $61.4 million is being spent on school chaplains.) (3/7)
