.... and its lifeline Ken river running through the middle. It was upgraded to the status of a tiger reserve in 1994 but within 15 years it lost all its stripes !! The news broke out in May, 2009 that Panna TR which once claimed to harbour 40+ tigers had none left anymore.
2/14
It shook the forest department, the govt and every concerned citizen of the country to its core. Investigations were done on the disappearance of tigers and reports submitted by the WII, SIT setup by the NTCA and by an expert committee initiated by govt of MP.

Best: Wrigley Field. This is the only ballpark that gets two top features because they are synonymous with Wrigley. They also went in the same year (1937). The hand operated scoreboard and the ivy. #Cubs
Worst: Wrigley Field. Tempted to go with the lights. How great would it be if the Cubs still played all day games and forced MLB to play half the World Series under the sun in 2016? So, it’s the bullpen(s) that where buried under the bleachers. Never mind, it’s the lights.
Best: Miller Park. The roof. Would be easy to go with Bernie’s slide, but the roof is a work of art. #Brewers

The NL playoff race is currently total chaos. The *only* seeds anywhere near determined for certain are the Dodgers at 1 and the Padres at 4.
Not only are the Cubs and Braves deadlocked for the 2/3 (with identical intradivisional records, for now), but Atlanta has to play Miami four times now, and they only lead Miami by 3!
Meanwhile, Miami is also part of a cluster of six teams separated by 1.5 total games! Either they or the Phillies (or maybe the Braves!) will get a guaranteed spot as the NL East runner-up, and one of the Cardinals, Brewers, and Reds will get an automatic bid too.

Fantastic #cubs #whitesox game going on right now, if you like such things. 1-0 Sox bottom 5th.
Bases loaded for the Cubs.
Holy cow! Cubs have bases loaded with no outs, White Sox get a strikeout and double play, still 1-0 Sox.

Here's a quick story about the time Harry Caray said something about Hideo Nomo in September 1995 that might've gotten him fired today.

Thom Brennaman was on the #Cubs broadcasting team at the time.
Speaking with manager Jim Riggleman on the pregame radio show, Caray made a comment about his own eyes as being "slanty" as Nomo's, who was on his way to winning the NL Rookie of the Year with the Dodgers.

chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-19…
According to the Tribune, Riggleman was "flustered" and quickly changed the subject for Caray, who was 81 at the time.

But it still became a story. The Japanese-American Citizens league asked WGN for an apology and said that Caray had used the word "Jap" on the air before.

Don’t we all love fun facts about wildlife? In our #WildAboutFacts series, we bring you some striking images and facts about the animals around us. Let’s begin the series with #Leopards.

Join the discussion and post your #leopard images!

#Leopards are actually the smallest among the genus of big cats. These elusive #cats prefer to hide in trees or in caves during the day.

#Leopards are not picky about their food and feed on a wide range of animals. They crouch low and sneak on their prey before attacking them.

Now that David Ross is official as #Cubs manager, I took a look back at a feature I wrote about him back in 2016, during his final year as a player. A few quotes stood out. I’ll add them in this string:
Epstein on Ross:
“He’s … keeps everyone accountable and focused on all the different ingredients that go into winning. It’s pretty unique that it’s an intentional thing for him. He’s really conscious of the different things that contribute to a winning atmosphere."
Kris Bryant on Ross:
“He’s kind of like our manager. He’s fun, first off. But at the same time, he can be really serious. He pushes you. He gets the best out of you. On days when you’re feeling a little lethargic, he figures ways to pick you up. … He just has all the qualities."

Jason Heyward 4 consecutive seasons being below league average with the bat; #Cubs fans defend him until the end.

Almora gets the CF job, plays bad D all year and hits .236; #Cubs fans defend him.

Addison Russel gets suspended then hits .239; ok- nobody defends him
Jed trades Tommy LaStella to the Angels for nothing and hes an All Star: Cubs fans could care less.

Jed signs Descalso to a larger deal than TLS and he hits .174

Craig Kimbrel is 31% below leagye average on the mound and 136% below his own personal average: we all wanted him.
Jed cuts Cargo the same day Heyward cant go and with our starting catcher in RF a dropped ball costs us a game.

Ian Happ spends 3 months in Iowa watching Almora and DD get at bats: BTW Happ has an OPS+ of 127 and Almora/DD combine for an OPS+ of 104 (lol).

#Cubs Prospect Thread: 2B Chase Strumpf
The Cubs 2nd round pick this year. Strumpf struggled early in his final collegiate season, which likely cost him chance at 2st round, before finishing strong. He's been an XBH machine since turning pro.
1/
Relies on compact swing and a discerning eye at the plate. Can pull his hands inside, and possesses good barrel control. Capable of going with pitches the other way and back up the middle. Will foul off pitches and rarely chase so he's a tough out.
2/
Plenty of pull power, especially on pitches elevated in the zone. Not sure if he has the raw strength or swing to drive pitches and do a lot of damage to opposite field. Still has room to add size on his frame though.

@CubsDen Top 20 #Cubs Prospect - April Status Check:
1. Nico Hoerner:📈He's done everything you could ask of a player making the jump to AA in his first full pro season (.293/.388/.483, 154 wRC+, 10.4 BB%, 11.9 K%). Currently out, but due back soon after getting hit on the wrists
2. Miguel Amaya: The rough edges on a 20-year old show at times on passed balls and in the .200 batting average, but his plate discipline remains sound (14.3 BB%), his power has played (.257 ISO), and his defensive issues can be chalked up to lack of experience.
3. Brailyn Marquez: We haven't seen improvements up this point. His stuff looks very similar to what we saw last year. His control and command have been spotty at times, but as a 20-year old playing in bad weather, there has been nothing real concerning.

1/3 From the WI only presale, the crap they post on the scoreboard during the Cubs series, and even Bernie Brewer having a sign mentioning Game 163, the Milwaukee baseball club has fueled their fans to hating the #Cubs.
2/3 I've had numerous run ins with fans, had my back windshield wiper ripped off, some crap smeared on my car last night, and there's no sign that it's going to get better. The revenue that Cubs fans bring to Milwaukee has to be in the 10s of millions annually.
3/3 There is definitely a rivalry between these teams and fan bases. A healthy rivalry makes games, a season, and baseball fun. When it becomes what it has become, it's not fun to bring my kids to these games. End rant. #GoCubsGo

#Cubs Prospect Thread: OF Cole Roederer

Not a big guy, Roederer rose to early round draft consideration this season despite battling injury by reworking his swing to translate his considerable bat speed into in-game power. He now regularly draws comparisons to Andrew Benintendi.
Usually when the term five-tool player is attached to a prospect at least one of those tools tend to outshine the others. In the case of Cole Roederer that may not be the case as most who have seen him attach 50-55 grades across the board.
Roederer became an immediate star in the AZL after signing. He showed off not just power but plate discipline as well. He used his above average speed to steal bases and cover ground in CF. He was among the best prep players to debut in 2018.

#Cubs Prospect Thread: SS Zack Short

Despite an up-and-down collegiate career the Cubs showed continual interest in Zack Short throughout, eventually making him a 17th Rd Pick in 2016. Short has rewarded their faith by exceeding all expectations.
1/
Originally being groomed as a utility man, Short has positioned himself on the cusp of the 40-man roster as legitimate SS and potentially key role player. Given the uncertainty surrounding a certain SS in Chicago, Short will provide vital insurance at AAA level in 2019.
2/
I had some questions defensively when he struggled at times as they moved him around in a utility role in 2017, and he still suffers from occasional lazy footwork on backhand plays and getting in line on throws to 1B. Cleaning that up will take his reliability to new levels.
