Thread:Was travelling the entire day through cyclone Gaja affected areas, especially the interior villages. All these days, sitting in Chennai, I never realised the magnitude of the destruction. The towns maybe slowly limping back to normalcy but that’s not the case with villages 
While travelling through Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Vedaranyam and Nagapattinam, one can see protests by villagers almost everywhere. A week has passed. But even now there is no electricity. No food. No drinking water. No proper shelter and no means of communication.
Villagers stand on the roadside to reach out to the politicians and officials visiting the place. They would run towards their car and plead for help. Some of them get extremely angry when they don’t stop their cars. The anger amongst people is something that cannot be missed.
