Thread: #PledgeIdai team spent the weekend on the ground in Chimanimani & we will sharing some of our experiences in the following days. The team visited 2 of the most affected areas Ngagu & Kopa. We were met by the @HigherLifeFDN team of volunteers who have on the ground
...since #CycloneIdai devastated Chimanimani & Chipinge. Before heading out we were given an update by @LovemoreNyatsin from the @econetzimbabwe group who has been heading operations.
After the debrief with @LovemoreNyatsin we headed to Ngangu one of the areas affected the most by #CycloneIdai. This was a residential area where several families lived, most are either dead or missing & their homes have been reduced to rubble.

*Soldiers refused to give them food & transport at Skyline saying no permission
*Teachers walked back to school to get food

*Dining hall & dormitory damaged by landslide on Friday evening killing three people (2 students & security guard)
*Slept at school on Saturday thinking soldiers would come
*Walked to Skyline after running out of food
