Do business school professors need business experience?
Many #PhDs / #DBA's end up in teaching and/or academic business research.
Both are different areas.
For teaching, you have to have practical experiences that you are supposed to share with the classroom.
Many corporate world leaders are the most sought after when it comes to teaching business courses in an #MBA program!
Most of these corporate bigwigs don't have Doctorate degrees, but, even then, universities would like to bring them on board because they have an adequate amount of insights.

Is there really a purpose of having a PhD title, next to your name, if you cannot publish journal articles, write monographs or books, etc?
Why waste 3-7 years at some university?
Applied PhDs for enhancing work-related experiences are better for those who would like to only work?
I was giving advice to one student who had an #MBA.
He got rejected by all the leading universities in the UK, and the USA that offered doctoral research programmes because of his quantitative background.
The reason cited was that professional degrees are not fit for purpose.
Your best choice after doing an #MBA would be a #DBA.
That too, after gaining traction, concerning subject expertise at the workplace for several years.
DO NOT directly enter into a DBA!!
That will be a travesty.

Having studied several articles as part of the #PeriodsandPatrakars campaign, we have come upon a pattern in the reportage around menstruation in India. This #Thread hopes to evoke and sensitize stakeholders to undertake measures to responsibly report on menstruation.
There are 2 main categories of improvements the media can make:
A.Use Inclusive Language and Evidence Base
B.Expanding the Range of Issues Covered
A.1) Inclusive Positive Language

Across several articles reviewed, it was noticed that when talking about menstruation, the subjects are always referred to as a binary word ‘woman’ rather than its more inclusive alternative ‘menstruators’.
