@ESBecars To access night rate one must have a night rate meter installed - which significantly increases the fixed standing charge - AND choose NightSaver plan which increases the unit rate for ALL "daytime" units. None of this appears to be reflected in their media info?
@ESBecars Secondly: @ESBNetworks is rolling out "smart meters" as we speak. These effectively eliminate the need for night meters. Electricity providers COULD offer arbitrary time-of-day tariffs. And no basis in physical infrastructure for different (higher) standing charge.
A balanced report by @LouiseByrneNews on the lack of rolling stock on @IrishRail causing overcrowding. However the opportunity to ask why @TFIupdates (which has no in-house rail expertise) why it was slow to approve for 41 intermediate cars which was announced in April.
@LouiseByrneNews @IrishRail @TFIupdates The need for extra stock -identified in 2016 strategic rail review commissioned by @TFIupdates. I believe an economist with no rail expertise was commissioned by the NTA to signoff the business case. Final approval is still need from @Paschald dept-7 months after order announced.

No extra funding for rail in #Budget2020. Perhaps Ross should look behind the sofa for extra funds to let 2700s to be return to traffic - not ideal but a quick fix
