Children born abroad on or after 17 April 2009 to Canadian citizens by descent, children born abroad to Canadian citizens by descent who acquired their citizenship en masse on 17 April 2009 or 11 June 2015 are subject to the 1st generation rule & hence are not Canadian citizens.
Such children must go through the naturalization or adoption process to become Canadian citizens.
