1/ Personally I am torn on this. On the one hand, it would be great to get an up to date DigiByte wallet. That said I feel @coinomi already offers all the features this app will offer, except the DEX, which is offered by the Komodo app itself already - it already supports #DGB.
2/ If the community is going to have an “official” wallet, it should be a showcase for the best features of #DigiByte. It should set the bar for what other wallets should include. Not having support for #DigiAssets v3 is a bit of a deal breaker for me. That is what we need most.
3/ $10K for a new skin on their existing wallet is a big ask, when it only adds DigiID. Plus it is going to require ongoing funding down the road just to keep it updated. This for an app that is not open source and not owned by the community.

1/8 🧵about a Wallet. $DGB Community. I believe it is time for a fresh #Digibyte branded mobile/desktop wallet option that offers a modern user experience, standard compliance and leverages a partnership with an innovator in permissionless exchange. Image
2/8 With that goal in mind, Komodo has agreed to work with our community in creating a branded version of their @AtomicDEX wallet. In 2015 Komodo first began working with Atomic-Swap capabilities afforded by Bitcoin’s “Check Lock Time Verify” feature. Image
3/8 They have been incrementally improving this ecosystem, and building partnerships that strengthen the Peer 2 Peer marketplace. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙜𝙚𝙩: 1. A DGB branded version of their existing AtomicDex Mobile and Desktop Wallet. 2. Digi-ID function for mobile.

1) It's been 6 years ago that I've made my first crypto investment.

Since then I've:

• Graduated
• Worked at a trading firm
• Quit my job
• Bought 2 properties
• Moved to a new country (ongoing)

I'll be sharing the good, the bad and the ugly.

This is my story 🌎

🧵👇
2) It's late 2016. A time where no one has heard about bitcoin or the term cryptocurrency in general.

I was a student in my early twenties trying to get my degree as a teacher in physics and computing.

I had big hopes and dreams but believed I didn't have the capacity.
3) I see myself as a normal smart individual but not a genius.

I always thought I had to be either brilliant or born into a rich family to escape the rat race.

Or just have plain luck in some way or another.

Since I wasn't any of these I accepted I had to work my entire life.

Finally. My first #DigiByte update/AMA video is online. 🎉🥳🎊

There are huge news for $DGB, because several things happened in the recent months:

A small thread .. 🧵
The most time-consuming during the merge of 8.22 wasn‘t the merge itself. In fact I have been working several hundred hours to fix the functional tests and related issues in DigiByte Core. As I mentioned before, this is the first time we have working functional tests in #DigiByte
I wasn‘t very transparent with the progress because there was no end in sight when I completed almost half of them. Some really crazy and hard to debug bugs in DigiByte Core made it exceptionally difficult to fix some of the functional tests.

🔹Hello #DigiByte Familly. Today we want to introduce you to our most recent project. An #OpenSource DigiByte #wallet. More details in our next thread! @DigiByteCoin @DGB_Foundation @DGBAT_Official @digiassetX @jaredctate (1/7) github.com/RenzoDD/digi-w…
🔹This is a CLI wallet and it's intended for educational purposes, that's why it's coded in a very simple way. Also, it has been developed with #JavaScript in the #NodeJS platform and we used our DigiByteJS package. (2/7) npmjs.com/package/digiby…
🔹This is a standard compliant wallet, because we followed all the industry protocols such as BIP39 for mnemonic phrases, BIP32 for hierarchical deterministic derivations, BIP44, BIP49 and BIP84 for legacy, native and segwit addresses and Digi-ID authentication. (3/7)

1/ Please join the conversations for the newly proposed DigiByte Improvement Proposal (DIP) on GitHub and Gitter. The DIP is a formal standard for proposing any changes to the #DigiByte protocol modeled after Bitcoin's BIP process.

github.com/DigiByte-Core/…
gitter.im/DigiByte-Core/…
2/ Introducing a framework for development improvements and enhancements for DigiByte will foster a collaborative environment critical for reaching consensus on critical changes to its core protocol.
3/ Anyone can submit a proposal. Once a proposal has been fine-tuned, it can be assigned a DIP number and published to the DigiByte GitHub DIPs repository. At this point, the DIP is official, but it is not yet approved or implemented.

#DigiByte Development Update Jan 4th, 2022:

While it may seem there is no progress in regards of DigiByte v8.22, the opposite is the case.

Why is it taking so long? Please allow me to explain.

$DGB
This is by far the most complex merge that was ever done for the #DigiByte Core codebase.

1) $BTC developers have gone mad with their codebase, which is a very good sign. The code's structure and quality has risen immensely. Many new features and bugfixes were introduced.

🧵2/7
2) We have to make 120% sure that the core features of DigiByte remain intact. We all want DigiByte's features such as DigiSpeed, DigiShield, MultiAlgo, etc. to stay perfect and bugfree.

Those are the things that make #DigiByte great 🔥
We can't afford introducing bugs.

Next up in my #Cryptothoughts series, in which I take a closer look at some of the projects in the crypto/blockchain space that have me beyond bullish, is @DigiByteCoin. I've been a fan of this project for a long time, and a lot of that has to do with some of the minds 1/7
behind the scenes, like @jaredctate & @hanskoning. If you've never heard of the #DigiByte blockchain before, just know that there are a lot of different aspects to the project that make up the whole, from the #DigiByte coin (the ultimate merchant coin) & the #Digi-ID 2/7
authentication system to the tokenized DigiAssets. Name any single niche that has emerged out of the broader cryptocurrency space over the past several years & you'll find the DigiByte team hard at work making those concepts even better, particularly when it comes to #DeFi. 3/7
