In any case, I tried to explain that bills pave the way for Agro capitalists to do what Uber & Ola did to cab drivers. Initially it was great for drivers who raked in incentives and consumers who got availability, but over time when monopolies... 2/6
... got strong both consumers and drivers got screwed. If, in the process, public transportation had also got screwed because of great cab availability in the interim, then you would get the situation that these farm bills will lead to. They will screw the farmers...3/6
This is especially for all the tweeple dissing the #DilliChalo farmers' rally saying they're just communists carrying flags. The main organiser is the All India Kisan Sabha, with communist history, but also 200+ groups. If ur here attending, u won't be able to diss their concerns
In rural India, farmers' unions & co-ops are a norm. It's an activity u might think is left leaning,but collective bargaining is the only way to access markets, push fr good prices, regulate seeds & fertilizers, even organise life. It's as rooted as harvest festivals #dillichalo
It might be ignorant to dismiss organised farmers and labourers just because they are unionised and aware. #DilliChalo
