2. The calf is taken & either killed within 48 hours, sent to become veal or fattened up for 'beef' or in the case of females to become a future milk production line.
3. Female cows are milked en masse daily and then slaughtered when they can no longer produce. Their lives are short and horrific.

3. Update : I genuinely felt in my heart & soul that something was wrong.
Next night returned to check on babies.. the smallest baby calf had not moved for past 24 hrs ... checked, he was very ill 💔
Called for rescue, waited the whole night 🔴 A long night, contd...

When I started this account 11 yrs ago, I was excited to talk to vegans from around the world. Shortly after I began blogging full-time.
And for years, I loved my job.
I was constantly inspired by the community we were building together.
When I started this account 11 yrs ago, I was excited to talk to vegans from around the world. Shortly after I began blogging full-time.
And for years, I loved my job.
I was constantly inspired by the community we were building together.
But then, at the end of 2016, my mom died.
Right after that, the US elected an out-of-touch, cruel billionaire as the president who managed to fuel existing tensions while creating horrible, awful new ones.
These two events have had a great impact on my life.

These two events have had a great impact on my life.
As a result, I became quieter in my advocacy.
Part of it was because I was, am, still grieving for my mom. Her death was completely unexpected, she was only 61.
So young.
Her death changed my family in ways I can't even describe.
