In @myogiadityanath own constituency, kids died due to lack of oxygen in the state BRD Hospital.
So many died one night that the scenes were distressing.
2/8 One doctor, who ran all through the night, @drkafeelkhan trying to get oxygen from any source possible was later persecuted. He was harassed no end, sent to jail for telling the truth about the oxygen shortage and had to finally leave UP to go and work in Jaipur
3/8 where #Congress assured him of protection. The supporters of hardcore criminal ajay bisht and @BJP4India kept quiet. They did not come out in support of the honest and dedicated doctor, who had clearly gone beyond the call of his duty and tried to save children.

If Dr Kafeel Khan could be arrested and kept in jail for 8 months for a speech that was out in the open, no secrey, no conspiracy, no other charges we need no further proof that there is law in this country. It is a dangerous situation. What's a nation without rule of law?
The story is not that #drkafeelkhan was released today. The horror story is that he was in jail for so long. That there was a law that allowed govt to keep a person in jail for absolutely no crime and that court took so long to protect a citizen against govt tyranny.
And many more are still in jail. Sudha Bharadwaj for example. The entire nation is being terrorized by the govt by keeping these people in jail like this. It is upon us to hold govt responsible for this. Govt just cannot be allowed to trample on citizens rights like this.

Freedom of speech is at the pleasure / mercy / liking of the regime.

Those who have suddenly woken up to the libertarian first principal haven't said a word about #DrKafeelKhan .

I neither expect nor demand that they invoke it for Dr. Kafeel.

Just putting in context.
That an authoritarian regime wanted a book to be published. That the book blamed the victim for inhuman atrocities inflicted upon them by the Thugs enjoying protection of the regime. That there was a backlash against this Orwelian dystopia. That the trope got pulped.
At no stage there's an assault on freedom of expression.

The authors have the backing of the State. The book will be published, widely distributed, promoted.

Though, not sure that it will be read.

So, baith jaaiye. Baith jaaiye.
