I developed an insane #DS9 fan theory last night.

So, in the TNG episode "The Chase," we find out that all the humanoid aliens in the Milky Way were seeded there by a precursor race, who looked like this: Image
Now, I'm not the first person to speculate the first part of this: due to the similarities in makeup, and the fact that they're both played by Salome Jens, a lot of people suspect those precursors eventually evolved into the Founders, who were supposedly once like "the solids." Image
In later seasons of DS9, we discover that Odo can now take the shape of surprising stuff - like mist, swirling particles of light in the air, or even fire. Stuff that you wouldn't expect him to be able to control.

I will actually be tuning in to check out the DS9 panel about the the episode Far Beyond the Stars because I am a giant nerd. #StarTrekUnitedGives
This panel is good y'all. Cirroc Lofton is talking about the importance of the Black authors who were mentioned in the episode. #StarTrekUnitedGives
Omg I love how blunt @NanaVisitor was just now about Kira having had PTSD and being distrusting because of that. #StarTrekUnitedGives

@JBillingsley60 read an article about your #GalaxCon Live panel and I agree with much of your thoughts & feelings there. I really wish they’d have taken another year to develop the show bible/plan and really solidify the storylines as to where you wanted to go. (1/4) #StarTrek
Especially as you’d taken a more serialized approach. Enterprise is tied for my 2nd fav #StarTrek series w/ TNG only behind #DS9.

UPN cutting you guys in season 4 was just absolutely criminal. The Romulan War talked about in TOS & others was JUST around the corner.

Even though they’re not considered canon, the #Enterprise novels are REALLY good and prove all that the show should have/could have been. It’s just not fair that every other #StarTrek spin-off got 7 seasons to tell their stories & you guys got cut off at the knees after 4. (3/4)

Randomly decided to watch #DS9 “Emissary” for the first time in a decade or so. Great opening! We meet Sisko in battle against hopeless odds. He loses his wife and saves his son all in the first five minutes. Rooting interest established. 1
Struck by the handheld camera work in the opening sequence, which was unheard of for #StarTrek at the time. Adds tension, energy, and verisimilitude. 2
God I wish they’d pay to up res #DS9. It looks so grainy. 3

WHAT IN THE FLYING A!? Over the years, many assumptions have been made about the various #Starfleet insignia worn on the original #StarTrek and beyond thru to #StarTrekSNW . Follow Us as we take a deep dive into the show’s most distinctive emblems and the intentions behind them. Image
It begins with Gene #Roddenberry wanting #StarTrek to have a “distinctive emblem,” something immediately identifiable & also with merchandising potential. Here’s a memo he sent to art director Pato Guzman about the emblem on August 10, 1964 (during pre-production on pilot #1). Image
This thinking resulted in a couple of distinct #StarTrek emblems. One is the boomerang shape seen painted on the Enterprise and Galileo hulls. The boomerang also appears frequently as a piece of set decoration—most commonly behind flag officers whenever Kirk gets them on Zoom. ImageImageImageImage

The worst #DS9 episode, "Let He Who Is Without Sin" is on, and I'm just tipsy enough to watch it. I had totally forgotten Bashir and Leeta were a thing. Along with everything else. 45 minutes of Worf groaning and neon pants.
Nothing here has any stakes. Riot on the pleasure planet? Just leave. And Worf and Dax's bickering is so repetitive.
The danger is that it starts raining. Literally, the worst thing that happens to these people is that Worf turns off the weather modification grid. Shit, LA just survived hail. Risa can make it through this.
