What PM Narendra Modi actually said...

"Speaking at Bellary, PM Modi said, “The movie ‘The Kerala story’ is trying to expose the consequences of terrorism in a society, especially in a state like Kerala which is beautiful land of hardworking,

talented and intellectual people.

The Congress party is now trying to ban the film and support the terror elements.

It only knows to ban things and completely ignore development.

The party even has a problem with me chanting ‘Jai Bajarang Bali’ “
"He also lauded the film and told that it tried to expose the new form of terrorism in the society.

“Terrorism has taken a new form now. Apart from using weapons and bombs, they are working towards making the society hollow from inside out."

Whether you like it or not, we're in an #economic #reset & nothing can stop it

The #macro chart of the #USA #economy reveals a crucial insight everyone should pay attention to

US #GDP & M2 money supply in #USD tn

Read on...

#tradingview chart👉bit.ly/3IwTBrt

1/🧵 Image
Untill 2011, money supply M2 consistently remained below 60% of #GDP

#Growth in M2 kept pace with GDP growth

Enabling low #inflation secular growth #economy

Despite popular #fintwit narrative, even GFC of 2008 did not upset M2 GDP⚖️balance

This is what GFC did...

2/🧵 Image
Average #GDP growth was 4% but M2 grew at 6%

Since 1960, this is the 1st time M2 increased faster than GDP

Still in 2011, M2 was less than historical average 60% of GDP

The story gets interesting for #investor #Traders #students #everyone

Then came the opportunity...

The US Federal Reserve has two imperatives: keeping #employment high and #inflation low. An economy "cools down" when workers have less money, which means that the prices offered for goods and services go down, as fewer workers have less money to spend. 3/

“Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone.”
― John Maynard Keynes

#Polymath and and #economist. Image
Between 1901, (age 18) and 1915, Keynes kept a quarterly tabulation of his sexual partners (both male and female). Entirely fitting hobby for a budding economist. Among his many male lovers was Benoy Kumar Sarkar, identfied as Indian nationalist and social scientist. Image
In 1925 Keynes fell in love with and married Russian ballerina Lydia Lopokova. They would remain married until his death in 1946. Image

The #economist is publishing a regularly-updated model of excess deaths due to COVID, which is being used to tell just-so stories about countries the Economist doesn’t like. Let’s talk about the dangers of using machine learning for analysis when you don’t have data.
Before we do, let’s just take a moment to appreciate the deep racism of this picture from a report using the Economist's numbers by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies. When you see a cover pic like this, you can guess what the contents are gonna be.
Having seen who is using this data and hazarded a wild guess at why, let’s look at some results. First, let’s compare the UK and Vietnam. According to the Economist, Vietnam had nearly as many excess deaths due to COVID-19 as the UK, despite containing the virus for a year.

Perceived increased demand can drive prices up, and vice versa.

Thread: Thoughts on #valuebased & #patientcenteredcare

Within #healthcare & #advocacy there seems to be a great deal of discussion on both #valuebased care & #PCC. #Healthcare costs have skyrocketed’ & thus a need to #reduce. I am not an #economist but as a #caregiver I 1/
definitely have seen ‘waste’. From my POV costs will continue to skyrocket even if #valuebased care is implemented. One reason (again not an economist) is the vulture ‘istic’ aspect of industries profiting from our system. The other reason is that our system is not centered 2/
around the #patient or patients needs. Thus, if the value based metric is reduced hospital admissions, this, on the face seems straight forth, however if the patients needs are not taken into account but only focused on established metric, costs could (& I will argue often r) 3/

The work of @HarvardHBS economist @william_r_kerr was brought to my attention by our group’s head #economist, Jonathan Pingle, and Kerr argues that human #talent, rather than the physical capital stock, or land, is far-and-away the country’s most valuable resource.
At an estimated value of $240 trillion, the knowledge and talents of the U.S. #workforce dwarf the estimated value of all the urban #land in the country, and by a factor of nearly ten! Image
While that might seem unfathomable at first, to anyone who has run a large organization of extraordinarily #talented individuals it seems perhaps less surprising. I’ve long known that the #team one is surrounded by is the difference between success and failure in #investing.

The “left” tukde-tukde gang misses that the common Indian is deeply nationalistic. Congress completely yielded that to the BJP, even showing up in JNU to support #TukdeTukde.

That can win in editorials in #NYT and #Economist, it suits them; it can never win hearts or heartland.
The electorate is nationalistic. It is Hindu.

The “Left” in India is out of touch.

BJP is far more vulnerable on its right flank. If Congress had announced “Mandir vahin banayenge”, would have created serious disruption.

I’m saying that you cannot attack the mainstream and hope to win. Many nationalistic Muslims supported Ram Temple but Congress took Islamist view.
