Biggest show in Edinburgh tommorow! Court case against Johnson Government on No Deal Brexit begins in Court of Session. Backed by 70 MPs. Arguments also relate to Scotland's constitutional place in the Union. 🍿 #EdFringe
Raring to go! Quite the team sheet for the petitioners. MPs hoping to cut off Boris Johnson’s power to prorogue Parliament for a No Deal Brexit using Scots Law. Starting soon before Lord Doherty at Court of Session, Edinburgh.
Petitioners begin with procedural requests - asks for the case to be fast-tracked to the Court of Session Inner House.

Every year about this time I get the fear. Something's gonna kick off at #edfringe. There's gonna be a barney over something we've written or done and it's gonna take me two days I don't have to deal with it. Impossible to know in advance what it'll be.
One year we were institutionally misogynist. One year I had someone hunting my address out online. Last year was pro-Tory bias. Really didn't see that one coming!
If I could I'd ignore and move on. But then people start spam commenting on the site or harassing other editors or complaining to the Fringe about us so it needs nipping in the bud.

With #edfringe just 6 weeks away, here's my annual twitter thread on tips for a happy fringe for all. Not exhaustive & written just from my perspective as someone who has come for many years as a producer, programmer and punter, and now lives in Edinburgh. First some city tips:
Try to be respectful to the people of Edinburgh. Whilst having the festival on your doorstep is a brilliant thing, it does make life a bit more inconvenient for a month - your commute is longer, the streets are busier & it's harder to get into your favourite bars or cafes.
Not everyone who lives here can afford to attend shows. On which note, if you're flyering, try not to get too annoyed if someone ignores you. They might have had a tough day or be late to pick their kids up from school (Edinburgh schools go back in August) or get to the dentist.

Not to be too extra but... UK theatre history is made today, as @1xtra the BBC 'urban' music station set up in 2002, broadcast their first radio dramas #withalittlebitofluck & #quarterlifecrisis!! Here's thoughts on how that happened & how exciting writing what u love can be...
It is tempting to write what others ask/want (*pay*) you to, course sometimes there is no choice. Making a career out of writing scripts means most have to do this at some point. But what if nobody wants to pay you to write what you really want to write about?
In 2011 nobody wanted to pay me to write about strip clubs, but I had to write about this world that I kept seeing totally misrepresented in every script ever. So I took other jobs (writing & nightclubs) that allowed me to work on & self produce my solo show Dry Ice at #EdFringe
