According to the US Bureau of Reclamation, water storage in the reservoirs it operates in California, which serve the Central Valley breadbasket as well as the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco, is near historic lows.

The mayor of London has announced that the Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) will be extended to include the entirety of the city of London despite "overwhelming" opposition. #UK #Environment
Drivers of polluting vehicles will have to pay £12.50 per day starting on August 29 in order to enter the Greater London Authority boundary.

80% of those in the impacted areas who participated in a public survey said they opposed expanding the zone.

Scottish Water and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) have also been informed about the incident. Sepa said its wastewater plant near Ellon had been "overwhelmed" by a river during recent heavy rain.

Climate scientists found that such high temperatures are "virtually impossible" without climate change.
In this, France reported over 10,420 fatalities in total, which is half of the summer's excess deaths in Western Europe. Britain's Office of National Statistics reported, excess deaths reached 3,271 in England and Wales during the summer.
