OK...it's been a good while since I've done a good tweetstorm, but since it now appears that the #HEROESAct will soon be passed as the second stimulus package, it's time to talk about the #HazardPay section and how it may affect those of us #EssentialWorkers.

As far as publicity is concerned, #HazardPay has been the stepsister in the basement, at least compared to the rollicking debates over the stim checks and the $600/week fed UI extension.
But, it actually may be the most impacting for #essentialworkers down the line.

Until recently, it seems that not even the parties in DC now negotiating and fighting over the details of the stim package have given #HazardPay its due analysis. Nor has the media.

2/ This is loss. This is loosing in OT with 38 seconds remaining on the clock, all the MVP players are in, but the other team intercepts and wins. The other team that won? Death. 5 nights in a row I battled the angel of death on someone very close to my age.
3/ 5 nights in a row I climbed on top of the bed in full PPE: gown, 3 masks, a face shield, goggles, and 2 pairs of gloves to physically try to circulate the epinephrine into your heart for it to restart.

Covid care doctors & nurses are stretched & need our help
We will do daily chart review & join their daily patient rounds to learn about each patient.
We are each assigned a floor/ward & will speak to patient’s families daily; freeing up time for Docs & Nurses on floors

After talking with the families we will be entering a note in the EMR for the pt; hence also communicating family concerns back to the medical teams & the patients.

I'm a healthcare worker. I work at a hospital in the epicenter of the #CoronavirusOutbreak in the #NewYorkCity area. Today I have symptoms of having contracted #COVIDー19. It was inevitable. My hospital has dozens of patients & staff that are positive & that I've been exposed to.
I am terrified. I am immunocompromised. I have no ability to fight this. I am an #EssentialWorker - a state employee - and was advised by my doctors very early on to stay home because of the severe impact this virus could have on me. I did not heed the advice. Here is why:
