The official has confirmed that the UGC will "stick" to the ground taken in the Bombay HC that student's future will be "irreparaby damaged" if final year exams are cancelled.

The UGC will also submit before the Supreme Court that students who are unable to appear for the examinations conducted until September, a special exam may later be held for such a student at a later point of time.

Basic premise of all the petitions is that if the final year exams are conducted before September 30 especially with rising COVID19 cases each day, the entire student body will be exposed to the risk of infection.

Pleas demand a similar treatment of the exams as done with #CBSE

UGC has mandated universites across India to wrap up final year exams by Sept 30 amid #COVID19

One among the 31 petitioners is COVID-19 positive. The petitioners have urged that the planned examinations be cancelled in the interest of justice for the students
Plea says after cancelling the final year exams of all universities, the results of such students should be calculated on the basis of their internal assessment or past performance. It is also urged that the students' mark sheets should be issued before July 31.
