THREAD. There are only two weekends left in #BlackHistoryMonth & I’m seeing so many bizarre, ahistorical takes on here, it’s a reminder that we should be using this month to educate ourselves. Fortunately, there are SO many resources out that can enrich, inspire & educate.
As I previously posted @MasterClass on Black history featuring a bumper crop of scholars including @sandylocks, Dr. @CornelWest, @nhannahjones & more is FREE this month. Stream It. learn.masterclass.com/blackhistorymo… Image
The #1619Project is streaming now on @hulu. It is a compelling look at our history, guided by @nhannahjones, the creator of the #1619Project. It’s terrific. I’m pretty knowledgeable on Black history, but I learn something new from each segment. STREAM: hulu.com/series/the-161… Image

@aginggleefully I know what you’re getting at—but disagree strongly.
Some of the connections we’ve made around here are valuable beyond measure.
(For instance, YOU!)
I hope we can keep and grow the networks we’ve developed here, and that IF we go elsewhere we can all reconnect there.
@aginggleefully Exactly how do you propose keeping in touch? By exchanging our other online handles and platform locations? By exchanging and storing each other’s contact info—such as email addresses—PIECEMEAL, as we did 20 years ago?
That would be inefficient and we would lose SO many contacts!
@aginggleefully Transferring our networks elsewhere is possible—but it will take TIME.
MUCH more time than the “little while longer” you and some others envision.
Already, some who have outright closed their accounts here—not even left them up with a “forwarding address”—are now hard to find.

1. @TheDemocrats are justifiably excited about this monumental achievement but it is unlikely to leave the Senate in the same form. Challenge will be whether our members in the House who want fast change are willing to accept a 9/10th of a loaf or just get nothing.
2. I think the immigration and family leave will be a heavy lift. If immigration and the family leave are taken out of the Senate version, we can use that as a motivation to win the midterms and hold the House. This struggle for working families didn't just start. It's been a
3. long struggle and much more needs to be done. The threat to all we hope for looms in the voting rights assault we see daily. Passing the Civil Rights Act amendments can get us the majority for the foreseeable future and make everything possible.

This looks so bad and loaded with everything that makes modern online and pop identity politics insufferable. Why do this?
What I don’t get though is why not just name it something else? Why do these new “creatives” refuse to make anything new but instead have to rely on borrowed emotional response of things already iconic and beloved for anything they make to get attention or relevance?
Even worse i hear it’s not even a continuation of the old miniseries but instead is meta commentary on the old series and movement. So I’m sure it will mostly complain how the old series and original civil rights movie wasn’t intersectional enough and they are improving on both

1. @MSNC just reported McConnell opened session in Senate with a foreboding comment about Trump and his enablers. Here is part:

"The last time the senate convened, we had just reclaimed the capitol from violent criminal who tried to stop congress from doing our duty. The mob
2. was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people. And they tried to use fear and violence to stop a specific proceeding of the first branch of the federal government which they did not like. But we pressed on. We stood together and said an angry mob

1. Members of Congress generally can't be sued for what they do officially because they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act. They also have limited immunity derived from the Speech and Debate Clause Art. I, Sec. 6, para 1 that provides as follows:
2..in all Cases, except Treason, Felony & Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their attendance at the Session of their Respective Houses, & in going to & from the same; & for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
3. IMO joining conspiracy to overthrow US with force, as Trump & Flynn have admitted they intend, would be treason and a felony so no Congressional immunity. Focused just on advocating overthrow, by voting to advance Trump's announced plan, IMO a reasonable juror

1. If we survive, the #Christain right will have to wake up to realize they've been played for fools by a #NYC porn-star paying golf-cheat hustler. I wonder if there were historical quasi-religious scams that created large numbers of angry followers after the fraud was exposed?
2. Trump knows he must keep the propaganda lamp lit or the images dim in the suckers' minds and he loses grip on their psyche. IMO the BLM demonstrations overwhelmed the Fox News/Kremin propaganda machine and broke the spell long enough to stymie Trump's campaign.
3. Trump never recovered. I was against any demonstrations in DC but concede that they may have saved us because they shut down the propaganda long enough for the people on the fence to snap out of it. I hope everyone now knows now how Hitler got Germans to make soap out of their

1. #Coup #LawyersForTrump engaged in frivolous litigation as part of the @GOP announced coup are getting smart. On Snell & Wilmer withdrawal in #Arizona, does anyone know if they sent something ex parte for court to review in camera? That could indicate client crime or fraud.
2. Thomson Reuters Westlaw Today says that the only remaining large firms doing the Trump litigation are Jones Day and Porter Wright. The article addresses mail-in ballot suit that Jones Day filed in June. Does anyone have link to that case? Is it still pending?

1. In the 2018 midterms, total turnout for Senate race was
8,371,655. @BetoORourke lost by about 215,000. Texas is at 9,042,066. 670,411 more than 2018. And the Election is on Tuesday. Get your ballots in to a drop box. And vote in person safely if you haven't already. @mjhegar
2. I'm putting up a Lone Star flag if we take Texas. @JoeBiden @KamalaHarris
3. Texas has 11,634,000 registered voters. As of today 9,041,066 votes makes it 78% of all registered voters have voted four days before the election. They may hit 90% of registered voters. That's utterly insane. And in all the years I have studied politics there was on constant:

1. My parents and all but one of my relatives grew up liberals. @JoeBiden at Warm Springs Georgia is his connection with that tradition evidenced by today’s pilgrimage. It connected him historically like plugging into electricity on FDR’s hallowed ground.
2. My parents were Massachusetts Irish Catholic New Dealers from two Western Mass political families banished by the @AP to MO in the 1950s. When JFK ran I was thrilled. PT109 and the Kennedy charm was irresistible to a nine year-old politician wannabe.
3. But my parents were lukewarm at first on JFK. He wasn’t an ideological liberal. Plus my family viewed the Kennedy family as bootleggers. Not that there weren’t probably bootleggers in our family but being nowhere near as successful at it perhaps made it easier to hide.

1. I know a bit about how the analytics thing works. It's why I'm not easy to track on-line. Pretty much only if I want to be tracked. The other day I allowed some cookies to set. This will explain how the GRU attack will go. Hopefully help you spot when your being engaged by

1.A reminder what really happened in 2016. 11 days out here's a comparison of poll averages. @HillaryClinton was 3.9% ahead. @JoeBiden is 7.9%. With Hillary in a much closer position, James Comey, under pressure from the @HouseGOP & @SenateGOP broke policy and IMO violated 6(e).
2. That opened the door to a massive #GRU direct action attack, mostly on @Facebook, that targeted @TheDemocrats who were wavering in their support and interest and who were identified by Cambridge Analytics by Facebook violating its own policies in a few key precincts.
3. That swung WI, MI and PA to Trump. It was brilliant but it was an act of war facilitated by Americans and an FBI head who violated the rules and the faith. Mueller, under the gun, was not able or willing to identify the members of Congress.

1. I was watching GRU attack in October that I had spotted growing in Bernie Sanders related accounts. 11 days before the election Comey broke the rules fed the tolls the red meat they needed to cause the changes in WI, PA & MI. I knew it was over. So I filed Comey's Hatch Act.
2. Under no circumstances amplify Biden email story. Just let it die. Don't become a soldier in a GRU attack. Remember, Trump is a traitor. He lives off of Kremlin money and they want to destroy us. We have 20 days to save our country. Trump and @GOP joined an enemy force.

1. I never watch @rupertmurdoch's @FoxNews. To make me do it, you'd have to hook me up like Alex in "A Clockwork Orange."

1. I was interviewed recently regarding my scoop that Trump had #Covid19. The way I confirmed it created a #Twitterstorm that was reported as news. I found it amusing. But during the interviews they asked about what I was? How to describe what I do? Professionally I'm a lawyer
2. and, as part of my work, I conduct investigations. But what I am doing on @Twitter is what I did the first time I did anything on Twitter during the #Iranian student uprising in 2009: I'm an anti-propagandist who fights for democracy by fighting enemy lies.

1. With domestic enemies seeking to end democracy, these are words to remember:

"Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror, which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance."
2. Why is Trump threatening the democracy? Because he can instill fear and fear deters voting. That fear is our greatest enemy.

THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF! via @YouTube
3. We're vulnerable to the Kremlin directed propaganda because the process of US transition of power is arcane and unknown to most Americans. One thing: It doesn't happen in court. Discrete ballot related issues arise but time does not favor ongoing litigation.

1. Have the Democrats forgotten the youth vote? I tend to dwell in the @MSNBC echo-chamber that is far from a bastion of youthful faces. What do 18 year old voters think? Are they even registered? For so many cycles young voter performance was so abysmal that I think campaigns
2. just tend to write them off. Barack Obama was good at motivating young voters and twice it proved to be a foundation for his victory. His quiet self-effacing demeanor struck a chord among a group that rejects bullying and derisiveness as part of its hardwired DNA.
3. Trump and the Fascists project armed bullies threatening everyone and that works to suppress the normal youth vote that shun involvement in politics that would expose them to the Fascist base. Trump's Hitler youth demo was on full display in Kenosha where

1. Motivations. Trump is transactional and though he has succeeded in being elected once he shows no evidence of becoming more attuned to how politics works. He will want to make a pick and get the seat filled to show daddy what an evil little boy he is. @MaryLTrump
2. McConnell is strategic. He will want to have the issue of the pick on the ballot. It will energize both @TheDemocrats and the Fascists but he will likely conclude that that the Democrats are already enthused, and he needs to prop-up at least five Senate races.
3. The Democrats will do what we do best: Freak out & run screaming in every direction claiming the sky is falling. When we awoke yesterday the goal was winning the White House, Senate and hold the House. Nothing has changed but the urgency. Mourn the loss of a great human being.

1. We now Trump's strategy is going to be flan flames of racial hatred. No shocker there but the key is how to react. What we can expect is a Willie Horton a day amplification of the "Black people are a threat" & the media, even well meaning folks at @MSNBC will help amplify it.
2. While we are watching endless days of justifiable outrage that the recent shooting caused, note that the people these police are shooting are not civic leaders of the black community but people with checkered pasts who make great posters for the "fear the Blacks" GOP fascist

Friends, it is a true and obvious fact that only one candidate will become the nominee. Eventually one of these candidates will have to drop out of the race.

When that happens, we want that candidate and their base of supporters to support the other. politico.com/news/2020/01/1…
We especially need the delegates of the candidate who concedes to consolidate behind the other. We want it to be obvious to everyone that they will do so when the time comes.

Souring each's camp on the other candidate is not a smart move, if we're serious about winning.
Does this mean you can never criticize or debate the points of the other candidate? Of course not. It means that in everything you're keeping in mind that, in the long-term, your candidate's victory depends on us courting the other candidate's base.
