Ready for the #CFB Analytics Spring Top 40? Here we go. This Power Ranking is derived from a model which utilizes full Coach Staff efficiency metrics, roster talent, & returning production among other metrics. No opinion here, I just regurgitate the numbers. #NoOpinionJustNumbers

Returning Production for the Wildcats may be a problem. At 39.72%, it puts them at 113th in the country. The schedule is manageable tho drawing Ole Miss & Miss State out the West. #CFB

Really like the new coaching staff in Seattle. Should put them in a better position to win. Roster talent purge from the prev regime will have an early effect (last 2 classes were 39th, 86th) but the ship has been righted.

Not long after FSU fired Willie Taggart in November 2019, I wrote that the two sides never finalized a formal contract (beyond the initial letter of agreement). After reading 800+ pages of depositions in a tangentially related lawsuit, we have some insight into why. 🧵
The first hiccup was a new excise tax that was taking effect as part of the Trump's tax reform. He signed it into law 17 days after Taggart became coach, and it included a 21% excise tax RE: some highly paid employees at non-profits.
Another negotiating issue was the mitigation structure of the deal, according to FSU's general counsel. If Taggart was fired without cause, the initial letter of agreement said he was owed 85% of what was left, subject to a mitigation offset at his next job.

I was in high school in FL in 1988, and this news story of vicious battery & rape by PKA brothers has been seared in my memory, and my experience at #FSU years later (esp reading @BadDebutante in the Flambeau), and now in how I'm taking in #KavanaghHearing.
Rape has remained endemic on college campuses--yet not even #KavanaghHearing yesterday could get past "we all did it" or "have you?" deflections of the alcohol abuse and gender performances demanded of youth that have served to create environments tolerating rape & harassment.
Even setting aside Dr. Ford's allegations, it was appalling that, when set on a national stage, a candidate for life appointment to our nation's supreme arbiter of justice denied & deflected the woman-shaming, male-machismo, blackout-drunk culture of rape-permissiveness.
