ولكن #فيسبوك التي تلتقط المنشورات المؤيدة لفلسطين بسرعة لتزيلها، "عجزت" في ميانمار عن مكافحة المعلومات المضللة التي أدت إلى "تفاقم العنف العرقي والديني، وفق تقارير داخلية تفيد بأنها فشلت في وقف انتشار خطاب الكراهية الذي يستهدف الأقلية المسلمة من الروهينغا.

وكانت سياسات فيسبوك وخوارزمياتها أدت إلى حذف حسابات صحافيين/ات وناشطين/ات من فلسطين، وحذف الكثير من مواد الأرشيف حول الحرب في سوريا. كما حظرت الشركة عدداً هائلاً من الكلمات باللغة العربية التي تُعد اللغة الثالثة من حيث الاستخدام على فيسبوك في العالم.
