This is astounding. David Patterson was the prime bill sponsor of public financing for years as minority and majority leader of the Senate. NYC's system has existed with 3rd parties successfully for 30 YEARS. #FairElections

The depths the @nydems are going to disgrace robust public financing and suggest there has been a movement to kill fusion is shockingly undemocratic. Just as nationally House Dems are fighting to transform laws with #HR1.
They use bias polling to suggest voters don't want a Government Of, By and For the People. They fearmonger to suggest there are no controls on the limited funds that would match only small donations that increase democratic participation.

It's easy to celebrate those on the front lines. Those willing and able to speak in front of hundreds, sometimes thousands. Those capable gitterdone types. We applaud and support their work always, don’t we?
We also must celebrate those in the back. The people who have anxieties or time constraints that keep them from being the “leader.” They are quietly calling Congress, having tough conversations with friends and family, addressing local Dem issues.
They are writing #PostcardsToVoters, often alone, spending their own cash to support elections in locations far from their home. They may not be organizing or giving speeches, but they are just as important, just as inspiring.
