@LAFamilyHousing @LAHD___ @GreystarApts @KarenBassLA @HUDgov @AbundantHousing I can not keep dumping out a 5 gallon bucket every 30 minutes. This is from the man upstairs that has committed hate crimes against me & have done nothing. I have COVID & so do my kids. We
are disabled. This has gone on for months & now I am in a flooding apartment & no where to go. I have begged & asked for attention to his assaults & hates crimes. He has been drilling upstairs since 11pm. The walls shake. The water is not stopping. I have a fever.
This property management left a bucket. They did nothing when he sent me to the ER two weeks ago when he said he recorded “my fat Mexican pu@@y & to go kill myself. He dumps cat litter on my wheelchair. He records me. He takes photos. He leaves nasty notes on my door

One of the Long Island real estate agents who appeared prominently in our @Newsday team's investigation of racial steering, Long Island Divided, has won the right to keep her real estate license. 1/
The agent formerly with Keller Williams, Le-Ann Vicquery, won the decision on August 30, according to an announcement by her attorney. Vicquery is the agent in our video who warned the White tester, but not the Black tester, about gang activity in Brentwood. 2/
Although both testers had centered their search in Brentwood, Vicquery provided only the Black tester listings in Brentwood, while sending the white tester no listings in Brentwood, directing him to a whiter area far outside of Brentwood. 3/

“Testing the gatekeepers of real estate.” @BillDedman Disparate treatment, steering, unequal treatment of #poc especially Black vs. White customers/clients, inappropriate comments...
An example of steering: an agent telling a client that it is a wonderful home and place while telling another client that it is a dangerous place. Knowing or unconscious biases? However, it is the Law so it doesn’t matter re motivation.

#FairHousing So when I think about reparations this is what I am thinking about. Investment in Black communities & families that matches the investments made in white communities to promote & enforce segregation. Think of segregation as a massive investment in white privilege.
These investments are less about individual checks and more about deep and extensive investments in policies & infrastructure that will advance Black economic, educational and physical well-being.
No need to worry about stigma. White people are not ashamed of the advantages they received from the tax breaks that made the creation of whites-only enclaves like Levittown possible. Or that their veteran grandfather could use the G.I. bill to go to flagship state universities
