I don’t recall my #FirstAntisemiticExperience but I do recall my #LatestAntisemiticExperience. It was yesterday.
“But you don’t look Jewish.”
“Do you normally wear a black coat and hat?”
“You must come from a big family as Jews have lots of children.”
“I’m guessing you’re rich”
“So your parents are rich right?”
“So you were born in Israel yes?”
“Jews have all the best quality food because you only ever buy the best of anything. And you can afford it too.”
“But you really don’t look Jewish”
“You’re Jewish! That’s why you’re so funny!”
“Why aren’t you a banker?”
“Can you tell if this is a real diamond?”
“You’re not fully Jewish. You can’t be. I mean you’re so ‘normal’ and you’re generous too.”

All of this was in a conversation with someone I’ve known for 5 years.
