People shrug off County Commissioner races, City Council races, local School Board races and State House/Senate races. Then they're shocked when their state legislature passes a horrific Human Centipede bill a few years later, like this one in Ohio. 2/

State legislatures usually control redistricting. If Trump succeeds in getting a 6:3 SCOTUS and Roe v. Wade really is repealed, guess who controls abortion laws at the state level? Want Medicaid expansion (assuming #ACA even survives)? Guess who votes on that in most states? 3/
