So how do we know this rise is real, & not just boffins getting bored with testing for SC2 & switching to flu virus testing? (LOL)

One approach to check this is a real rise in flu cases, not just over-testing is look at deaths, hospital beds, ICU beds with flu-confirmed patients.

Flu testing *is* still happening, but I can't speak to whether levels may have dropped due to SARS-CoV-2

As expected, #flu and other viruses have been hit hard by physical distancing...but the rhinoviruses are still there. And at decent levels. Interesting. There R0 isn't thought to be higher than SARS-CoV-2 (unless it needs a fresh look) Hardier for longer because non-enveloped?
