2/ The two initial charges were baseless, devoid of credible evidence, and politically motivated. He is currently in prison under a third equally baseless charge, that of ‘espionage’, which would require him to have been in possession of secret information. This is absurd.
3/ For almost three years, the authorities have attempted to find it but there isn’t a crime to be found.

Osman adopted two snails in jail. A very characteristic gesture. He is best known as a human rights activist and ambassador of culture. But his story of animal activism began in the 1980s with this intervention on behalf of turtles.
