Patrick Zaki’s remand detention hearing session was held today in front of the Cairo South Criminal Court, in his presence and the presence of his lawyers from EIPR. We’re still waiting for the court’s decision.

Patrick Zaki was arrested on 7 February from Cairo Airport, and he has been in remand detention since the 8th of Feb, based on a falsified arrest report. Patrick has already spent more than 9 months in remand detention.
During Patrick’s last hearing session before today, on October 7, the court ordered his detention for another 45 days, though his lawyers presented a request for his release as his previous order of detention became null and void as it was not renewed within the legal time limit.
