The US Army continues to make progress in the EMD phase of its Sentinel A4 #AESA radar program. In addition to funding development and operational testing, the Army has requested $162 Million in its FY-2024 budget request to procure 12 AN/MPQ-64A4 Sentinel X-band radars. #GaN ImageImageImage
The AN/MPQ-64A4 will be organic to both Army IAMD, and its Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 force. As a short-medium range sensor, it will help provide Situational Awareness, NCTR and Fire Quality tracks against FW/RW aircraft, Cruise Missiles, and the RAM threat. ImageImage
The 12 AN/MPQ-64A4's requested in FY-2024 would be from the third LRIP batch for the Sentinel radar #AESA upgrade program. At its peak, the US Army expects to field 44 Sentinel A4's a year - a cadence of about 4 radar upgrades a month.

US Army has requested $800+ MM in FY24 for the Lower Tier Air & Missile Sensor #LTAMDS (AN/MPQ-65A replacement). This funding will support further development, testing & acquisition of 5 radars - 3 EOC radars for Pacific Deterrence initiative & +2 radars to support IOT&E. #GaN. ImageImage
Meanwhile, the 2nd Lower Tier Air & Missile Defense sensor has begun verification testing at WSMR. The first sensor has been undergoing testing & EOC integration activities at #WSMR for quite some time. #LTAMDS will transition to developmental testing in late FY23. #GaN

This is getting insane. I realize the appetite to sensationalize but it's getting out of hand. If someone were to industrialize this capacity to inflict civilian damage at scale as is proposed 👇, "D" would be to equally mass produce things like Coyote Blk 2+/Mordecai, & DE sys. ImageImage
In the end, what is being pushed here is still fairly limited war winning capability. We are talking about a 50 kg warhead equipped flying moped that is COTS derived and fairly limited in its strike potential against military targets and hard & soft CM's and tactics.
The false comparison being drawn to "Western" air-defense capacity is also completely irrelevant to the discussion. The "Shahed" threat doesn't warrant those capabilities. It warrants equally scaled production of significantly cheaper, and simpler counter measures. ImageImageImage

From initial "proof of concept" demo in 2020 with first gen #Leonidas High Power Microwave system to fully developing & demonstrating a rugged, deployable #HPM CUAS solution (gen3), Epirus has leaped past established defense primes in supplying operational #HPM systems to the DOD
Epirus leveraged its smart power management experience to focus on Solid State #GaN #HPM which was a deviation from what its competitors delivered. While they missed out on initial competitions, their core tech has far ⬆️ capability & flexibility.

3 generations of #Leonidas 👇 Image
With its #Leonidas solution having evolved from a technology proof of concept system to a ruggedized, higher perf system that was ready for user evaluations, Leonidas was showcased to the US Army's Joint Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Office during live demonstrations. Image

Musk is a bad #GAN. He moots things that have the approximate shape of policy (e.g. an illegal forced opt-in to surveillance ads) and then we are supposed to act as #discerners who either lionize or mock that plan.
It's likely that his own senior staff despair of getting him to listen to expert advice, so they leak these policy-esque statements in the hopes that the press will assemble legions of legal experts to go on record about how foolish and dangerous his latest wild hair is.
These experts either convince Musk that he's wrong (but allow him to save face by announcing that he's changed his mind on his own), or they alarm Musk's creditors, who call him up and shout at him.

A long 🧵with some thoughts/comments on it 1/x
The first chapter provides a very good overview on the #semiconductor industry/value chain, elaborating also on important players/ market shares.

Basically, they could have used also the study by @snv_berlin / @JPKleinhans on that, but anyway, it is quite well analysed. 2/x
imho every journalist that want to cover a #semiconductor topic should easily be able to comment/edit on this section. If someone is new on this field, it is a very good initial read to understand the sector. 3/x

Image

So the chart below is the one above but if you didn't like the crypto aspect of that then this is another one to pass by - however, whilst there's a little more of the same this has an additional angle: this is kind of a bank proxy for what #GAN is (was?) meant to be to gambling. Image
Here it is, selling for just under a whisker of TBV - this bank, MBV Financial, $MBVF is growing like a weed not only to a small crypto side of things but in large part thanks to the fact that they're directly linked to deposit taking for the likes of Draft Kings etc Image

Might be worth flagging this given the situation with #GAN etc and US casino gaming.

Gaming Realms #GMR is 15x smaller than GAN. They develop games for online casinos and hold the IP whilst licencing it out - they just signed Draft Kings for NJ and are applying for Pennsylvania.
Signed along with Sky Bet since year end, DK brings the total number of clients here to 33 in addition to 10 last year.

Company today announces licencing revenue in Q1 was up 90% and 80% in April / May.

In FY19 this was £4.1M of £7.0M total revenues.

SP up 35%, mkt cap £37M
Hasbro acts as agent, does the marketing. Chairman / Interim CEO buying heavily, owns nearly 10%.

Impressive client list. US was 40% of licencing revs last year, imagine this should rise with DK. Company seems to have the knack for developing what makes punters tick. Image

So it turns out that the Founding Fathers didn't just like powdered wigs, flintlock muskets and, ahem.. "alternative employment models".

The Supreme Court decided last year they were also permissive of gambling: which means American sports finally have a purpose. Image
Until now, you may have thought that US sports were simply something that happened in the background whilst food was eaten, endless statistics generated and astronomical scorelines totted up on the board with dead-eyed, stultifying and metronomic regularity. Image
But don't worry, that won't change. In fact, it's probably to the sports' benefit, given there's so much minutiae upon which to gamble.

✨🧠 The ecosystem that has grown up around @TensorFlow in the last few years blows my mind. There's just so much functionality, compared to some of the other, newer frameworks.

👉Consider this an ever-expanding thread for me to take notes + wrap my brain around products. Ready?
1) @TensorFlow Extended (TFX)

It's no secret that I 💕 #TFX and all of its tooling for deploying machine learning models into production. If you care about keeping your models up-to-date and monitoring them, you should check out the product + its paper.

tensorflow.org/tfx/?hl=zh-cn
2) @TensorFlow Hub

If you want to train your model on a small data set, or improve generalization, you'll need to use something called transfer learning. #TFHub modules make it easy—and are available in an #OSS marketplace: tfhub.dev.
