Can we #GetReal about mental health for a minute?

Even before this pandemic, Saskatchewan people were experiencing acute #mentalhealth challenges. Our province has among the highest suicide rates in the country.
So many in our province struggle with addictions, poverty, and other issues that impact our #mentalhealth.

Throw a pandemic on top of that, and we have more people than ever who are dealing with depression and anxiety.
It shouldn’t take a pandemic for Saskatchewan to start putting resources into #mentalhealth in our communities.

This week is CMHA Mental Health Week, and I’d like to ask you to do three things:

Many Ontarians are experiencing heightened anxiety and depression during these challenging times. Services like @ConnexOntario, Good2Talk, @KidsHelpPhone and BounceBack offer supports online, virtually and by phone.
To support these programs and services during a time when physical distancing is necessary for the health and safety of all Ontarians, our government is providing up to $12 million to expand online and virtual mental health supports. #MentalHealthWeek

Surely it’s only a matter of time until we start closing schools in the UK? Or do we think stiff upper lips (and heads in the sand) will allow Brits to withstand #covid19 better than China, Italy, Iran etc? #GetReal
That being the case, as someone who’ll be home all week next week (taking part in #ucustrikeback), is it not reasonable for me to educate my kids myself next week? Is the government really going to fine me for doing my bit to delay the spread of #coronavirus? What say you?
Poll: Should I send my kids to school next week?

Prepare for more high-handed outrage about the EU today as Britain is back on the back foot.

We could have drafted a first Withdrawal Agreement.

We didn’t.

Because how do you get Agreement when the Foreign Sec wants a hard Irish border to accompany his ambition?
And how do you get Agreement when you don’t actually show up to negotiate?

Britain’s full of #FireAndFury but there’s not enough substance behind the endless speeches.
The devil has always been in the inconvenient Brexit detail.

Shiny rose-tinted pronouncements on the fantastic days ahead don’t cut even the English mustard.
