Thanks to all of you who raised your voices to say we won't accept the sacrificing of the Global South. We won't accept anything short of #ClimateJustice.

Our executive director @chilledasad100 is about to deliver your demands directly to world leaders at #COP26
@chilledasad100 1/ "The richest have ignored every moral and political call to do their fair share. Their Broken promises are littered across 26 COPs. Empty press releases drafted by polluting companies no longer fool anyone.
@chilledasad100 2/ Covid vaccine inequity and ‘net zero 2050’ are just the latest examples of a deliberate sacrifice of the poor for profit by those whose wealth was and continues to be looted from the global South.

Whilst we are frustrated, and angry. We are not without hope.

Our event, From Crisis to Justice, pathways to a #GlobalGreenNewDeal has started.

Unfortunately, due to technical issues, this will not be live streamed (however we will make a recording available as soon as possible).

But check out the thread below for some of our highlights
"Neoliberalism has taken a wrecking ball to the welfare state and communities in the Global South but also in the Global North. Taking away the basic things we need for a dignified life.

Any Green New Deal, needs to deliver for all of us."
@KateAronoff
@KateAronoff "Green New Deal conversations should be a basis for rupture, for movement building, to build class conscience.

When we say uproot the system, the system has a name - it's called capitalism"

From Crisis to Justice. How do we win a #GlobalGreenNewDeal is starting now!

Watch live on YouTube now!

"We are facing multiple crises: a crisis of vaccine apartheid; economic recession and poverty; billions without access to universal services.

System change not climate change is the slogan of our movement, today, we will populate that system change." @chilledasad100
@chilledasad100 "Discussing justice without discussing land & housing would be unjust. They are questions of dignity, equality, food access & revolutionary democracy.

The social value of land must come before commercial value, prioritising humanity ahead of profit."

How do we win the intersectional, transformational vision we need for climate justice?

We were at the opening panel of the #JustTransitionHub to discuss ownership, neoliberalism and organising to win a worker-led #GlobalGreenNewDeal.

@PlatformLondon @tued @stuc "Neoliberal climate and energy policy has failed. We are not seeing an energy transition, but energy expansion.

We need to deal with the logic of growth in the energy system, to decommodify energy, in order to democratise energy, internationally.”

1/ #COP26 Whilst leaders jet in private jets for their speeches tomorrow, the agenda fight is taking place. This isn't as some dull journalists dismiss as 'debating brackets'. Imagine the Chair of a meeting, deciding the agenda for the meeting. He decides that your critical issue
2/ is an AOB, or maybe that it needs to be taken offline, to discuss how to discuss it next time, whilst the majority of the meeting is given over to what colour to paint the manager's office. Decisions over what and where issues and whose voices count matter.
3/ Rich countries try & rig the system before it even begins. That's why they themselves have huge technical delegations working 24/7 to ensure what they want discussed is discussed & pay for their pet think tanks to 'misadvise' the poorer countries to nod along to agendas

#WWF storytelling as they #greenwash corporate #plunder & bear responsibility for the displacement, torture & murder of #Indigenous peoples:

"Building a sustainable & equitable future. For nature. For you."

Reality: "The financialization of #nature" Image
To obtain the required social license, the ruling class devised a strategy. A corporate campaign that would harness the momentum of the youth - to achieve the ruling class objectives & desired goals. #NewDealForNature

An apt reminder for the aforementioned tweet - that TIME is wholly owned by Salesforce founder/CEO Marc Benioff - #WEF Board of Trustees & Chair, WEF Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

"The Green New Deal" is going to take movement tactics. Bullshit. It's global - sitting in the wings. Your consent is being engineered. Spending billions to have you demand & "fight" for it. They play with you like a cat plays with a mouse before it decapitates it. For fun.
Who else is tasked with building the social license required to implement the Global Green New Deal?

Let's start with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, & May Boeve, Executive Director of 350-DOT-org.

This is going to be a very important thread.

#SavingCapitalism with
#StakeholderCapitalism
#RedefiningCapitalism
#NewDealForNature

Let's start here, with this misleading article shared by the GT account.
To start. From the article:

"The theme of this year’s gathering in #Davos is “#stakeholders for a cohesive and sustainable world”. According to the forum’s website, leaders will meet to discuss ideas and improve our global progress on climate change."

theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
What is not shared is the primary focus:

"Focus of the meeting will be on renewing the concept of stakeholder #capitalism to overcome income inequality, societal division and the #climate crisis."

This #WEF release is new (Jan 14 2020) - but the focus & theme is not.

Just like clockwork. World Economic Forum - the movie.

On October 28, 2019, the documentary The Forum, opened the 62nd edition of German documentary festival (DOK Leipzig).

Because "to change everything, we need everyone".

Director Marcus Vetter: "Eventually we have to overcome some of our preconceptions. The elite may not appear as evil as we think they are. There are good and bad people..."
con't: "The film is asking the question, 'Is there not maybe still a middle way, one in which everyone comes together instead of separating from one another?'"
