Big news day in comics world!

Here's a thread of Eisner Nominees that stand out to me as #GraphicMedicine relevant.

(I haven't read every book nominated (yet) so if I miss something please let me know)
Reminder that I have a broader definition of themes that fit the field than just "medical."

I'm going from top to bottom in order posted by Comic-Con.

(I'll go back through and add links to relevant reviews later as well)

We said there would be a number of exciting announcements during #GraphMed2022 right?

Here's another one: the Graphic Medicine International Collective is thrilled to share the launch of our Frontline Comics Project website!

This project has been 2 years in the making and is the result of intentional, mindful, collaboration between frontline healthcare workers and comics artists - plus the careful work of our facilitators.

Each of these 7 comics tells a story from the early days of COVID-19.

With support from the Penn State College of Medicine (notably the Department of Medicine, the Division of General Internal Medicine, the Kienle Center for Humanistic Medicine, and the Department of Humanities), we were able to pay both storytellers and artists.

I drew a comic abt a traumatic experience in my childhood and being black in America. Not necessarily medical. Still cathartic. Back to standard programming after this. #blm #BlackLivesMatter #comic #graphicmedicine #drawingwhileblack ImageImageImageImage

Okay, so... "The effects of comics, as measured in randomized controlled trials: a rapid review" (osf.io/hmtkp/) is going to change a bit and I'd love some feedback and/or suggestions from the #graphicmedicine @GraphicMedicine @NoetheMatt #comics #fotonovela community.
Basically, I am trying to build a regularly updated database of studies (randomized trials) involving comics (and derivatives, such as mangas, graphic novels, manhwas, webcomics, fotonovelas or bandes dessinƩes). This database would include summaries of studies and assessments.
In my own jargon this would be a living systematic search, data extraction and risk of bias assessments (with no introduction, no conclusions and no results section). It lies in-between a living systematic review and a repository (eg Cochrane CENTRAL).
