A 2-metre rise in #SeaLevel is almost inevitable. The uncertainty is on the timing, somewhere between one century and the next two thousand years. Exceeding 2 meters of sea-level rise will fundamentally change #European #coastal zones.
Europe and National States can recognize that coastal #adaptation is an ongoing process that involves short-term actions, long-term planning and strategic thinking.

2/ Our modeling finds the policies in the #InflationReductionAct would cut US #greenhousegas emissions 37-41% below 2005 levels by 2030. Combined w/ executive & state action, that means the US can realistically hit its targets under the Paris Agreement
3/ Our modeling also finds the #InflationReductionAct won't just protect our environment-- it'll make the US economy stronger. The policies in the bill are projected to create up to 1.5 million jobs in 2030 and add nearly 1% to the country's GDP

…and I’m not just talking about the mega-wealthy, I mean even just the moderately rich. But many councils are fearful of being seen to actively help the rich, so they conflate their #climateemergency work with work they are (often already) doing on tackling #FuelPoverty.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying for one minute that councils should abandon efforts to tackle #FuelPoverty. That’s a social ill that should have been dealt with long ago and is a legacy of the UK’s largely crappy housing stock.
