Litwa jako jedno z pierwszych państw jeszcze w 2020 r. zadecydowała o wykluczeniu #Huawei z udziału w budowie lokalnego systemu #5G. Litwini poszli nawet dalej i zaczęli demontować część instalacji założonych przez chiński koncern. 2/15

The Irish gov has released its Electronic Communications Security Measures (ECSMs), effectively a reaction to risks in #5G technologies and networks. Here's a summary of what it does say ....
Ireland’s Risk Assessment concluded that nation-state actors pose the greatest risk to networks. It looks like technologies that are not granted exceptions must be ripped and replaced by 2027. Is this a ban on high-risk vendors, if the bar is very high??
There are serious risks affecting #5G networks, in particular risks arising from poorly written or malicious code, supply chain risks, particularly those arising from high risk suppliers and the risk of third country or State interference.

Expect this news will make most of you uncomfortable. Plz let me begin with a declaration that the #ClimateCrisis is real & requires immediate action

But you've also heard me address conflict of interest in #CDNmedia & this #thread has serious legal implications
2/24 🧵#CDNpoli #CDNmedia

It's outrageously serendipitous that #Huawei's Meng Wanzhou signed a plea deal today, the #2Michaels are coming home from China, & that Grimes is reporting marital troubles with Elon Musk

Could've never imagined those topics would intertwine like this
3/24 🧵#CDNpoli

When it comes to conflicts of interest in #CDNmedia my criticisms are not partisan

For #J_school legal reasons it has always been imperative for journos to decline reporting on people or matters that involve them & to ethically disclose when that isn't avoidable

Canadian Robert Shellenberg has lost an appeal & faces execution in #China for trying to smuggle drugs to #Australia. The Canadian Ambassador said it was "no coincidence" his verdict was announced while the extradition hearing of #China's Meng Wanzhou is on in #Canada.
Shellenberg first received a 15-year prison sentence after being charge with drug smuggling. However - following the detention of #Huawei's Meng Wanzhou in #Canada on a #US extradition request - the Canadian was "re-tried" and then instead given the death penalty.
The Shellenberg case - along with the cases involving Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig - have been described as hostage diplomacy on the part of #Beijing. China's foreign affairs spokespeople have themselves linked the Spavor & Kovrig cases to #Huawei's Meng Wanzhou.

In 2019, the @FCC took decisive action to secure the communications supply chain, barring companies from using FCC subsidies to buy equipment from entities deemed national security threats. Pleased 5th Cir. today rejected #Huawei's appeal of our decision. ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/pub/1…
Today's decision by the 5th Cir. closes part of the circle that began in 2018, when I promised @SenTomCotton and others that "I intend[ed] to take proactive steps to help ensure the integrity of the communications supply chain in the United States." transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases…
There's more to do. We successfully pushed Congress to establish a program for removing already-installed equipment from companies like Huawei and ZTE—an ongoing process. But now the court's made clear: "Assessing security risks to telecom networks falls in the FCC’s wheelhouse."

1/ Bombshell reporting by Dutch newspaper @volkskrant on @Huawei in the Netherlands.

In 2010, KPN commissioned a risk assessment on Huawei. The findings were so damning that KPN never made them public for fear that the company wouldn't survive.
2/ The report states that Huawei:

➡️ Had unfettered access to KPN's network
➡️ Could eavesdrop on all conversations (including those of the PM)
➡️ Knew which numbers were monitored by police and intelligence services
➡️ Accessed the network core from China

There's more...
3/ Huawei also had full access to the personal info of KPN subsidiary Telfort's subscribers. Another investigation found that Huawei installed several ways to obtain this info and did so regularly.

Huawei refused to close down these exfil pathways after being confronted by KPN.

(It's not a bug, it's a feature.)

Great report by @satariano on a fake network that @Graphika_NYC (and others) found in December.

Twitter accounts with GAN faces, boosting Huawei, boosted by Huawei execs, and attacking Belgium's 5G policies.

Not enough evidence to prove who ran them.

nytimes.com/2021/01/29/tec…
We found this network when it was boosted by Spamouflage, a pro-China operation.

Independently, @mvanhulten of @TI_EU and @ArbiterOfTweets of @Knack found it with different methods.

It's not a friendly environment for fake campaigns, folks.

graphika.com/reports/fake-c…
This was the first account we found.

"Alexandre, PhD", apparently a CEO.

But no surname, no indication of what he's a CEO of, and a GAN-generated profile pic.

~1~The Clinton foundation is the source of many well funded activities that allows them to control everything. Barrick Gold Corp is relevant to #Solarwinds & the Delian Project to Dominion. I'll cover Barrick once I get to Newmont through UBS. We will focus on the Delian Project.
