This thread will explain how to use @UMAprotocol to power secure, non-custodial, and superfast cross-chain transactions, including token transfers and swaps. 👇🧵
2/ @UMAprotocol has launched on @0xPolygon and plans to launch on every EVM-compatible chain.

This means that you can optimistically settle data requests on any chain, with the ability to call back to the DVM on Ethereum to securely resolve any disputes. medium.com/uma-project/um…
3/ Interestingly, having an Optimistic Oracle on every chain opens up a method to quickly and securely send cross-chain transactions.

Let's demonstrate this with the simple case of transferring tokens from @0xPolygon to Ethereum.

Is collateral borrowing the best way to get exposure to stablecoin yields? Or is there a better solution?

In bull or bear, market dynamics are different. Let's analyze, but first we'll introduce a new collateral-free method of borrowing, De-Collateralize.
bit.ly/3iIngm1
This is a way to get exposure to stablecoin yields if you are holding mostly non-stable tokens such as ETH, or a way to get exposure to non-stablecoin yields if you are sitting on a large pool of stablecoins in your portfolio.
This method has no liquidation risk, requires no collateral, less expensive, and can be more profitable in the right market. Instead, what is akin to borrowing APY is paid upfront. You get exposure to the yield position and the token of your choice.

Happy New Year Aave Fam 🎊♥️🍾👻

The Aave Protocol launched back at the beginning of the year, and it has been an Aavesome year of growth that wouldn't have been possible without you 💕

Some highlights of Aave 2020 in the thread and more in newsletter👇

2020 kicked off with the launch of the Aave Protocol on mainnet, which brought cool innovations to the #DeFi space, like aTokens and #flashloans ⚡️
Many creative hacks and projects were built on the Aave Protocol in hackathons like @ETHGlobal #HackMoney, #ETHOnline, @gitcoin, and @Meta_Cartel. The Aave Ecosystem grants program started in April to help bolster projects that contribute to the Aave Ecosystem ⚒️💪🔩

/1 DeFi has made incredible progress in the past few years, but it still faces many usability problems.

I'm excited to share my newest project: 🎰DeFi777🎰, which introduces a new pattern for interacting with DeFi protocols.

2/ I built this project for the @ETHGlobal #hackmoney hackathon.

3/ Dapps can be scary and confusing. Users need to install Metamask, navigate confusing popups, set gas parameters, etc.

Argent has done amazing work to simplify this experience, but they've had to build custom integrations for each DeFi protocol.

That's not open or scalable.
