DPP through SADPP, Alexander Muteti, urged the Mombasa Chief Magistrate, Hon. Martha Mutuku, to impose such a sentence as a deterrence to both citizens and foreigners from engaging in such a trade.
The convicts include: Mohamed Saleh, Yakoob Ibrahim, Saleem Muhammad, Bhatti Abdulghafour, Baksh Moula and Pak Abdolghaffer. They trafficked 377.2 kgs of heroin worth Ksh 1.3 billion and 33,200 liters of heroin, worth Sh189 million.

Bwire has been convicted for conspiracy to commit a terrorist act and collection of information for commission of a terrorist act. His conspirators in Somalia are being pursued.
