Happy Birthday Sachin Tendulkar. To celebrate his legacy, here’s a thread looking at his clutch innings in low-scoring test matches across his career🧵

For this thread, I’ve considered low-scoring test matches as those that have a batting average of under 30. I’ll be looking at some of Tendulkar’s most impressive innings in these games.
57 v Pak, Sialkot 1989

Match Average: 29.92

In his debut series, 16-year-old Sachin Tendulkar scored a fifty after fighting an injury as he was hit in the face by Waqar Younis Image

Thread: What can we traders learn from Sachin

1) @sachin_rt is undoubtedly one of the greatest batsmen of all time & has played several amazing knocks. But one that stands out is his 241* at Sydney. He did not play a single cover drive in the entire innings

#SachinTendulkar
2) Look at his stance on the crease. Look at the balance. Perfect. Simply elegant. Looks so pleasing to the eye.

Even @bhogleharsha once said, “When Sachin hits a cover drive, the world seems all the more beautiful.”
3) But in the series against Australia. Sachin had been getting out by trying to drive the ball outside off.

He had scored just 88 runs in the previous three matches and had registered 2 ducks as well. So he decided that he needs to change something to score more runs

1. Sachin Tendulkar was named after music director Sachin Dev Burman. As a child, Sachin was quite mischievous & once fell down from a mango tree. That's when his elder brother Ajit took Sachin to Achrekar Sir at Shivaji Park. Sachin was nervous & didn't play well initially
2. Achrekar sir advised Sachin to change his school to Shardashram Vidyamandir. Young Sachin would practice a lot & when he got tired, Achrekar sir kept one-rupee coin on the top of the stumps. If Sachin remained unbeaten he would get the coin. Sachin still treasures those coins

If you look at @sachin_rt 's profile on Cricinfo, you will notice that he doesn’t have a strike rate in test cricket. The reason is that we do not have info about the number of deliveries he faced in the test against Sri Lanka at Chandigarh. espncricinfo.com/series/16566/s… Image
