I'm still SMH at @KamalaHarris's comments during #HarrisTownHall about wanting to eliminate private insurance plans.

According to the @KaiserFamFound, in 2017, 49% of the U.S. population had employer-sponsored private health insurance plans. 1/3
According to the @uscensusbureau, in 2017, 67% of the U.S. population had private health insurance with 56% of that being employer-sponsored.

In 2017, the Census Bureau reported, 8.8% of the U.S. population was uninsured. The Kaiser Foundation follows closely at 9%. 2/3
So, let's get this straight: to help 10% of the people, Harris wants to eliminate what works for roughly 55% of the people. It doesn't make SENSE!

She also thinks that #MedicareForAll will eliminate delays & paperwork.

Seriously? How long have you been in government? 🙄 3/3

Sad, but important to say things like, “the President has to read the briefing book.” First G.W. Bush, now Trump. The idea that the “briefing” book is too much, drives me crazy. It’s not even the whole report. It’s a briefing, for heaven’s sake. Read & study it. #HarrisTownHall
President Obama reportedly read in detail, wrote questions & observations in the margins, asked for addl info. Like an intelligent person who takes seriously making decisions that will impact millions of ppl. “Bush didn’t like to read the book.” “Trump likes pictures.” Come. On.
This should be a debate question for every presidential candidate: “if you are elected will you commit right now to read and study the briefing books on policy, law & other critical subject matter provided by your advisors.” The bar is that low.

Cute speech. The words are nice, but its the actions of Kamala Harris that matter most. A thread: #KamalaHarris2020 #HarrisTownHall
Kamala Harris refused to turn over the names of police officers who perjured themselves to obtain convictions. She then created her own "Integrity Unit" headed by a former cop whose family had donated to her Attorney General campaign. #KamalaHarris2020

Kamala Harris defended the long term use of solitary confinement & fought to dismiss a lawsuit filed on behalf of inmates left broken & traumatized by the barbaric practice. #KamalaHarris2020 #HarrisTownHall

The contrast between the progressive image Kamala Harris is trying to project and those videos of her laughing about criminally charging parents whose children were truant is, to put it mildly, extreme.
In the video, Harris acts like charging a homeless mom with a crime was a good thing, bc the mother got services and the charges were eventually dropped. Is that the world we want? Where parents get charged with crimes instead of simply getting assistance? Is this your president?
And she just kept laughing about how much she was frightening the parents. Like it was a delightful thing to do. Horrifying.
