Day 2 of the #JonesvDeSantis trial done. What have we learned so far? A lot! Mostly we've learned that the State of Florida is wedded to defending a system of poll taxes that they don't even know how to implement.
We started with the inspiring testimony of Plaintiff Moreland. Ms. Moreland and people like her are why we are fighting this fight. After #Amendment4 passed, she registered to vote. But later in 2019, she found out she still owes $$ from a yrs old conviction.
Under this new law, these fines and fees would stand in the way of her ability to vote. #polltax And even though @GovRonDeSantis lost in every court so far on this law, she was removed from the rolls earlier this year. While she has been reinstated, so many others are at risk.

UPDATE on my attempt to find a hairstylist for my new show that specializes in doing natural hair without heat

I, & others black actresses, have tweeted about this issue for days. My tweets have been RT’d hundreds of times w/thousands of comments.

Verdict: Not ONE name given.
Remember, I started this by saying that artists in #Local706 who CAN do our hair & makeup well, exist! They are just always booked. #Natch

Further, the union makes it all but impossible for non-union artists who have this specialty to get in.

None of that has been disproven.
And I still haven’t located a hairstylist:
1) in Los Angeles
2) who is a member of #Local706
3) who specializes in natural hair without heat
4) who is free and able to start work TODAY.

So I will be doing my OWN hair.

Newsflash: I am also NOT in #Local706.

The following thread is my personal reflection regarding the cancellation of the Edmonton Clinical Lab Hub project and what it means for Laboratory Services and more importantly, what it means for patient care in the region: [1/12]
[2/12] The infrastructure and space demands in Edmonton medical laboratories are real. Questions about space and capacity challenges were first raised in 2007, and continue to be raised with every accreditation visit we get. #TheStruggleIsReal
[3/12] What kind of challenges are we talking about? Well aside from pathologists and supervisors sharing offices (or at times not getting an office at all), we have equipment crammed into small spaces causing instruments to overheat #HotMess
