House of Card season 6 (the final). I finally finished it. And... 🤔
I hated that ending. So much. Because it felt rushed, as if they ran out of set time and were just like "welp. guess we won't have time to really finish it." I legit was waiting for the next scene and was like "wait. that's it?"
Claire is ice cold. However, the way they made her weaponize her womanhood in cartoonish ways at times was so unlike what we know of that character that it felt lazy to me. The moment she was challenged, she'd be all "it's because I'm a woman." That has never been Claire.

Is there any reason why we're speculating about Whitaker as a possible nominee at all? Is there some indication that *either* Trump or Whitaker might want to make him permanent? Seems doubtful. Whitaker doesn't *need* to become permanent AG to do the damage Trump likely wants. 1/
Moreover, if Whitaker were nominated to be AG, he no longer would be legally eligible to continue as acting AG (even assuming he is currently eligible) under the Vacancies Reform Act—which would leave Trump fishing for another interim loyalist. 2/ fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R…

This weekend, I attended a conference that highlighted the importance of personal (individual) narrative for movement building + I just kept thinking about the lost opportunity in telling bigger, collective stories.
I want movies + binge-worthy TV series + novels + short stories + memoirs + graphic novels that help me imagine different, anti-capitalist worlds.
I want storytelling that shows me what collective housing might look like, that romanticizes (+ problematizes) being an activist as a daily, lived experience.
