Meanwhile, the annual IAF Day flypast & parade on October 8 will be held in Chandigarh this year, instead of the Hindon airbase on the outskirts of Delhi, in line with the government’s directive to take major events out of the NCR to different parts of the country #IAFDay

The airshow, which includes frontline fighters like Rafales and Sukhoi-30MKIs as well as transport aircraft, helicopters and vintage planes, will be held over the famous Sukhna lake in Chandigarh. #IAFDay

The #IAFDay flypast was earlier held at the Palam airbase in Delhi for decades before it was shifted to the Hindon airbase in 2006 because it used to lead to airspace closure over the domestic and international airports in the Capital for several hours spread over four days.
