๐ŸงตGood morning, friends! Today marks the 13th #VisibleWomen event! This will be a thread that goes over the history & basics then we'll get started. Submission instructions also posted here: milkfed.us/events/visibleโ€ฆ
What is the #VisibleWomen project? It's a effort to raise the profiles of women in the comic book industry **in order to get them work**. (More on that last part in a bit.)
For the next roughly 8 hours, this feed will signal boost portfolio & CV links of women in comics and related industries. We will then put those names and links on a spreadsheet database that is made available FOR FREE to any hiring professionals in the industry. #VisibleWomen

It looks even more queer in real life ๐Ÿ˜Žโœจ

Hey #IamNonbinary and I write this book about gender & climate change & ghosts, and if you're scrolling the hashtag looking for something good to read--why not this? Also it's a short lil novella, everyone reads it in one sitting. You'll love it. Yay for nonbinary people.
Gah and I forgot the alt text, sorry. It's a graphic of the cover of my book DEPART, DEPART! and also my headshot and the publisher, Stelliform Press's logo, and then some quotes about how great the book is that I'll link to: stelliform.press/index.php/praiโ€ฆ
And here's some links where you can buy it!
From the publisher: stelliform.press/index.php/sim-โ€ฆ

The next #VisibleWomen is Monday, March 29. This is gonna be a thread about that.
I should probably start at the start -- the first #VisibleWomen day was in 2016. It started out of frustration at the perception that it was hard to find women who were qualified or wanted to draw mainstream comics. The first VW was for artists only. It went well.
So we did it again 6 months later. The goal was never just visibility; the goal was to get women work, to get them PAID. So we started producing a spreadsheet from the hashtag and offering it free of charge to any hiring professional in the publishing industry.

#IAmNonbinary and have been happily out as such for years now thanks to a loving, understanding family and friend group. I've been on HRT for 18 months, and my life has only gotten better. ๐Ÿ’œ To all you other folks outside the binary, I love you and there is a world for us. ๐Ÿ’œ
I figured that since I really don't have anything to promote and I can't take selfies for the life of me I'd give some kind words ๐Ÿ’œ
You are all worthwhile, talented, and wonderful. Thank you for living your lives truthfully and honestly your yourselves. #IAmNonbinary We deserve the understanding and love that isn't often afforded to us, and I want you all to know that. ๐Ÿ’œ

Non-binary thread- a partial discussion of history, sociology, theology and biology of gender not being polarized.
First! Because of language and simplicity, I'm using NonBinary as an umbrella, most theology will be Abrahamic because that's what I know, I have a biology degree, and some things are up to interpretation. If you ask a question- intent must be to learn, not to debate.
Okay, it's important to know that the separation of sexuality and gender is not a universal concept, especially historically. Different cultures have had different expectations of roles in their societies. Even celibate men could have a unique term from reproductive men.

Gender spectrum is pseudo-science & far-left concept, based on queer theory (queer theory was created by pedophilia supporters).

It fundamentally misunderstands what gender is; it's average biological (sex + neurological sex) differences between men & women. #IAmNonbinary
Unfortunately for transtrenders, there's nothing more than men or women - intersex is not actually "inter sex"; they are still male or female.

This is biology 101 but the fact that evolution (and biology) denialism is trendy is telling of state of society

#IAmNonbinary
Further, by pushing such things you're delegitimizing actual trans people all because of a political ideology that blames a conspiracy theory (patriarchy, normativity) for differences between men and women and wants to do away with both since biology is mean.
