Arshdeep was looking like Charasdeep for a while. Good comeback. Death overs have always been his strength.

NZ looked set for 170. Arshdeep & Mavi pulled them back, 170 looked out of reach. Now Arshdeep has put them back on track, got them to ~180.

Finn Allen's last 6 T20is:
1, 16, 32, 4, 0, 3. And the 32 was vs Ireland.

Today's 35 would have taken the pressure off.

Have they seriously not picked wags? #INDvNZ
Oh no they seem to have. Thank fuck for that.
Would've liked to have seen Phillips get a go with Kane out.

THREAD - Virat Kohli, pre-match press conference ahead of the New Zealand match:

On trolls on social media:

There's a reason we are playing on the field and not those spineless people. It is so unfortunate and sad to see people getting entertained. That is why we are doing what we are, & those spineless people are doing what they are.

On Hardik Pandya:

Hardik is fine if you are talking about the blow on shoulder. He is absolutely fine.

The World Test Championship Final between India v New Zealand starting on Friday is arguably the single most important Test match ever played. On a very basic level a Test has never had a world title riding on it but the match carries broader significance as well. #INDvNZ
The WTC is imperfect but it has all been building to this moment, this match. If it’s a good & memorable one it should help lend significance & context to the next WTC cycle which could help reinvigorate the format, the opposite might be true if it’s a dud. #INDvNZ
In a way this shows how the way we watch sport is weird—no single match should carry so much broader significance—but context is so important & this is essentially the first attempt at a World Cup of Test cricket—150 years after the first Test match. That’s also weird. #INDvNZ

#ViratKohli's form is a worrying concern for #IND. His avg is 22.33 on this tour of NZ across formats with 1 fifty.

However, in recent Tests, it is not his form neither their is any pattern in his dismissals but something else that might be an issue with him.

In his last 7 Test dismissals, #ViratKohli has been dismissed by 7 different bowlers with 6 of them being the bowlers whom he had never faced before in a Test season.

Those 6 bowlers are: K Roach, S Muthusamy, A Nortje, A Jayed, E Hossain & K Jamieson.

Trent Boult is the only previously faced bowler who dismissed #ViratKohli out of his last 7 Test dismissals.

If we take only the ongoing 2019-20 season, Kohli has been dismissed 5 new bowlers and 1 previously faced bowler in Tests.

If you hadn’t noticed (and it seems lots haven’t!), there’s a World Cup Final on at Lords today, with England in it! Stay away that rain.
Excited as I am for #CWC19 Final, it’s disappointing tht @ECB_cricket wasted opportunities to win huge domestic support for cricket & the national team. 10.30am weekday starts most days, Sky subscription only & scheduling vs Wimbledon Men’s Final. Still, stay away that rain!
@ECB_cricket NZ put themselves into bat first. Interesting decision, given the skies. Come on England!

Sometimes you are a victim of your own success. The Indian team had the most prolific 1-2-3 punch in World Cricket. The problem with that was that it masked the brittle middle order. Other than Kedar Jadhav, none of the others #TeamIndia #INDvNZ #CWC19
were established batsmen capable of winning the match on their own. I don’t think Ambati Rayudu was the solution but the selectors created a sticky situation by playing him till it was too late. And when they went the other way, they chose an unproven #TeamIndia #CWC19 #INDvNZ
player like Vijay Shankar. Dhawan’s injury creates a bigger issue because it took out a solid batsman in KL Rahul. What happened in the semis was always on the cards. The move to win the next World Cup starts now. #TeamIndia #CWC19 #INDvsNZ

The guy in the kiwi outfit going absolutely ape-shit - as well he might... #INDvNZ
The commentators on Sky - both Indian & Kiwi - are so wound up with tension that they are all just screaming gibberish now.
I'm really finding it hard to focus on my work.
