1. Why #INSVikrant celebrations are homophobic in nature.

I will ignore the sheer horror of war in this thread, & how it is led by only men and destroys women, LGBTQIA+ and children.

My purpose in this thread is even more brilliant. It is to expose the homophobia of the Navy.
2. India gets its first home-built aircraft carrier. And what do we name it? INS Vikrant? This is outrageous on so so many levels, I started hyperventilating the first time I heard it. But then I calmed down and prepared myself for this thread for the world needs my awesomeness.
3. Vikrant is the name of a male for starters. And everything male is vicious, evil and horrible, we all know that. Why would India still propagate male chauvinism in this way is beyond me.

On evening of 03 Dec 1971, then PM Smt Indira Gandhi announced-
''I speak to you at a moment of grave peril to our country...The Pakistan Air Force suddenly struck at our airfields in Amritsar, Pathankot, Srinagar, Avantipur, Utterlai, Jodhpur, Ambala & Agra''

The first hostilities had broken-out between India & Pakistan!
However, known to a few, Pakistani Submarine Ghazi was already on the prowl on the Eastern coast of India since end-Nov - its target, the aircraft carrier #INSVikrant - the pride of #IndianNavy (2/n).

In fact, from 27 Nov onwards, PNS Ghazi hung around 5-10 miles off the harbour entrance, armed with torpedoes & mines, waiting for Vikrant.
Did Ghazi get its target? Or did Vikrant manage to counter the deadly submarine?

Operation Trident (4th Dec 1971): Decoding Indian Navy's boldest operation to decimate Pakistan's Karachi port and destroy fuel & ammunition. With 0 casualties for India and overwhelming success, India celebrates 4th of December as Navy Day in memory of this operation. (1/n)
In the 1965 war, Indian Armed Forces weren’t organized properly. Air Force and Navy were considered as extensions of army.

Indian Navy didn't participate & silently watched as the Pak Navy attacked Dwarka with impunity.

Having learned the lessons, it was prepared in 1971.(2/n)
Karachi port was Pak's most valuable asset & was heavily defended; attacking it was going to be very risky move. Admiral SM Nanda, Vice-Admiral SN Kohli, and Cmdr BB Yadav were the trio that masterminded and executed the most ambitious naval attack after WW2. (3/n)
