Any company which seeks foreign capital from foreign investors through FDI route must get clearance from Foreign Investment Promotion Board or FIPB.
The case against P Chidambaram is of irregularities in FDI received by INX in 2007. What are these ?
FIPB cleared FDI of 4.62 crores to INX media group. It was 46.2 % of the total share value of 10 crores. The shares were valued at 10 rupees a piece.
INX media wanted to use money from this to invest in it’s subsidiary INX news, which FIPB declined.
