1 approach to understanding #covid19 infection is to examine co-morbidities & ask what's common?

Most prevalent Cov19 co-morbs:

1)↗️age
2)Hypertension
3)Diabetes
4)Cardiovascular disease
5)Kidney disease
6)Chronic respiratory disease (esp COPD)
8)Cancers
9)BMI>40
10)♂️>♀️

These are diverse diseases & increasing age technically not a disease at all. However, there is at least 1 factor in common among all of the co-morbidities identified thus far:

INFLAMMATION
3/
A survey of the co-morbidities revealed another commonality; a close association w/ dysregulation of the pro-inflammatory, neutrophil-recruiting cytokine, IL-17A.

IL-17A is made by multiple immune cell types, including lung-resident innate lymphoid cells (ILC3s).

@nprscience I have several problems with this @joepalca story, expressed in the form of Qs. Forgive me, the list is long:
1) Is the assertion that electric fields *cause* healing effects or are *caused by* them?
2) If the former (which seems to be the claim), what’s the evidence for this?
@nprscience @joepalca 3) What’s a plausible physical mechanism for this?
4) Is it in accord with known laws of physics & chemistry?
5) If so, has that mechanism been tested rigorously?
@nprscience @joepalca 6) How extensive were the clinical trials of the rat band-aid?
7) How was the control established?
8) What was the statistical significance of the results?
9) Where was it published?
10) Has anyone outside U of W reproduced the study?

Inspired by this post from @garyschwitzer, I'm tweeting a mini-storm about all the MISLEADING ANIMAL-BASED HEALTH PR we wade through EVERY SINGLE DAY. PLEASE RT this thread to let the institutions tagged know that their messaging and claims about human treatment are NOT OK!
First up: @UniofNottingham claims "Father's diet could affect long-term health of his offspring." But only IF THE FATHER IS A MOUSE! Please let these researchers know that there's simply no way a single mouse study can "bridge a gap" to human health.
(See Gary's original post at the top of this thread for links to all of the news releases that I reference in this thread.)
