Most people will stop using the term "South Asian" if we point out that it is offensive to #IndianAmericans. They don't mean to be offensive, just don't know. We need to speak up .
It is only entrenched bigots and academic sepoys in the "South Asian Studies" ghetto who insist on the term, with an agenda of erasure. We need to call their bluff. Please share the article widely.

@SenatorMenendez What about #atheists or ex-Muslims? Didn't they deserve LA protection? #CAA would be improved with neutral language hafsite.org/india-citizens…. LA too. @SenatorMenendez's targeting India is ill-informed. A million #IndianAmericans in New Jersey deserve better and will take note.
